Likes
- There are many things which i like here, but the thing i like the most is the clubs which you can join. There is a lot of flexibility to join your preferred club according to your interest/
- The flexibility to choose your subjects to do in the year.
- The flexibility to choose your time slot for your classes you need to attend.
Dislikes
- The rules are too strict. You are always under a camera.
- Due to frequent change of classes, its hard to find friends.
- Also, we can't leave hostel after 9pm . We can't even roam in the campus after 9.
Course Curriculum Overview
VIT chennai's course curriculum is meticulously designes to ensure both relevance and comprehensiveness, aligning with dynamic demands of various industries. The university employs fully flexible credit system, allowing their student to design thier students to select courses and schedukes that best fit their carrer.
Internships Opportunities
The internships can be done in any year if you get an opportunity. Though it is conform to do an internship as it will give you credits. There are many projects which you will be a part of in this 4 years. The are many companies which are ready to give internships to students of VIT, like Google, Microsoft, Dell, etc.
Placement Experience
The placements in VIT is good as there is 100% placements. The top placements definetly cross 1 crore every year. Also, you will have many oppurtinies to get into internships. And, also it allows you to do masters after yoour 4 year program.
Fees and Financial Aid
So, there are Group A and Group B courses and i am from a group B course. In Group B courses, there are categories from 1 to 5. The lower your rank in entrance exam the lower the category and lower the fees. The fee structure for Category 1 students is 2,01,000 and it increases to 4,9200 for category 5. Though the fee seems high, it is worth it.
Campus Life
The overall experience is pretty good. The campus is lot cleaner compared to many other institutes. There are lot of clubs in VIT, which you can be a part, where you can get lot of opputinities to pursue your interests. There are many extra currilur activities which you can be a part of. Also,you have a Gym, a swimming pool, a rock climbing clubs and lot of fun things to do.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostels are good. You have everything you need in your hostel itself. You have good wifi(it stops after 11.59pm), AC, wending machines, 24 hr hot water, etc. When it comes to menu it depends on what you choose. There are particularly 4 messes which you need to choose start of academic year and continue eating in it until end of academic year. The food is good and healthy.
Admission
After few major IIT's, VIT is the best option to choose. As it has best infrastructure, curriculum which is similar to Top IIT's. When it comes to hostles, it is even better than IIT's. The NIRF rank of VIT is in top 3 right now, which makes it better than many NIT's. The asmission process is simple, you need to give an entrace test, if you meet the criteria you will be getting an email to pay the confirmation fees.
Faculty
The faculty is good,as you are the who's choosing them(except for your first semester). The ratio of student to teacher us 1:17. The exams here consists of 2 Continuous Assessment Tests, 1 Fina Assesments Tests, and Lab exams at every end of semester.
Night Life
When it comes to nightlife, there is no nightlife in VIT. After 9, you need to be in your hostel and can not indulge in any activites outside your hostel. You can attend any event or club before 9 only. There are many cafes, places to spend time, but only before 9 for boys and 8 for girls.You have a flexiblity to attend library even after 9 until 12am.
