Life at VNIT

The curriculum for the electronics and communication department of this college has been pretty good. Like there is a choice between subjects which lets us choose the topics which we are interested. Initially all subjects are taught as we first need a proper base in all subjects. But a few thing are outdated that can be replaced in the curriculum to focus on more important things

The highest internship offered is 1 lpa by oracle . The roles that came for internships are mostly for software developer roles. But the percentage of Students who were offered internship from college placements is very less

From the 5th semester the students start getting internship opportunities for Summer, most companies that provide internship also provide them with a pre placement offer. From the 7th semester the placement opportunities will start, right now i.e., as on Jan 10th 60% of ECE is placed. The highest package offered is 34lpa and the minimum is 5lpa. By end of this semester it is expected that 80% would be placed. I will continue with a job after my degree.

The fees for the final semester of B.Tech in our college is a total of 68,475 . Internet and computer maintenance fee - 375 Tuition fee - 62500 Training and placement fee - 200 Industry institute interaction fee - 150 Convocation fee - 750 Development fee-1500 End semester examination fee -500 Student activities fee- 625 Sports fee -1250 Registration fees-250 Library fee-375 This is the fees for a general category student. Now for SC/ST the tuition fee is waived off. And if you are from OBC or low income then on submitting the income certificate your fee can get reimbursed but it takes a lot of time.

The cultural fest AAROHI is usually held in October, while the technical fest AXIS is usually held in March. The library here is good but can be improved There are indoor badminton, basketball , football, throe ball courts in our college. Even an institute gathering takes place in February which is like a competition of sports between different department s

For 1st and 2nd year there is a double shring room. White for the 3rd and final years they get a single room. Only the basic facilities are provided which is a fan light , chair and table and a bed but the mattress is to be bought on our own. The meal quality is not that good. The hostel and mess fees combined is 32300.

I got into this college by writing the JEE Mains . And one of the reasons I chose this college is that it had good placements at that time and even good gym and sports facilities. We can get into this college only by writing the Joint entrance Examination Mains. And as this is a National Institute of Technology I chose this college when compared to other private universities.

In this college the marking scheme is almost same for everyone which is 80 marks out of 100 for written exams and the remaining 20 for internals or teacher assessment. The 80 marks is divided into 2 exams - mid semester examination for 25 to 30 marks. And end semester examination for 55 to 50 marks. The teacher assessment of 20 marks can be anything ranging from mini projects to quizzes.

For girls there if no such thing as night life as the in time is 10:30 for the hostel building and you cannot go out. As there is a strict attendance procedure with both sign and biometric. Whereas for boys there is no such thing but they should also be in campus by 11p.m.
