Remarks

I found the MCA department of the college to be just an average. i am not all satisfied with college placement and training cell and the ceo of the college. i remember as a student, i have met her with number of big and small issues but never have got any

Entrance Preview

I have taken up pgcet exam. I always wanted to do my masters in computer science, so it was predecided during my BCA i have to do MCA. I got through the pgcet exam and went directly to the Acharya institute of management and sciences, bangalore to take the admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum was average. I think Bangalore university need to upgrade its syllabus according to current IT trend. For me, it was little monotonous as i have read many of the subject and topics in BCA also. Regarding the electives, BU provides many optional subjects but you have to limit your choice as college don't provide teacher, if number of student are very less to study that particular elective.

Internships Opportunities

I found Acharya college to be very weak in providing internship and placement. I have a very specific comment regarding the MCA department, we as an student of Acharya were not satisfied by the work of training and placement department. I feel most of the student had done the project by joining some institute or by joining very small companies who dont pay any stipend.

Placement Experience

0.5

As a student of MCA, I was completely unsatisfied as the college had not called a single company to college for the placement

College Events

2

College used to arrange new year party, yearly all department cultural program, department wise cultural program, college fest, excursion and international student day

Fee Structure And Facilities

I found it to be expensive. i used to pay 50k per semester plus yearly they used to charge around 10k for placement and training. i found it to be unjustified, if they can not call a single company for the placement

Fees and Financial Aid

College doesn't provide any kind of scholarship or loan. after securing 30th rank in pgcet, i have not got any addition discount or support from college. Finally i have to take loan from the bank. So be prepared to pay all expenses from your pocket for studies.

Campus Life

2.5

Women Entrepreneurs Empowerment Program,Ganesh Chaturti Celebrations, Oman Celebration - 2015, Freshers day Celebrations,1 day Blood Donation Camp, farewell, graduation day, foundation day, debate competition, karnataka rajotshva and college fest. There were many more but the above mentioned program used to be grand.

Alumni/Alumna

As i organiser alumni meet, I got a chance to meet few of my seniors. very few of the MCA seniors have came to be part of the program. i have an interaction with them. All were placed in a very good company but had a long struggle period after getting out of the college, as for them also, college has not provided any placement assistance

Exam Structure

I have enjoyed all my exams periods. It was easy going. There used to be 1-4 days gap between two papers. So . it was chill.

Faculty

3

BhagyaLaxmi Mam and Jayashree Mam were too good in their subjects.i have enjoyed their classes with all my heart and mind involved into it. Other teachers were also very hard working. All were highly qualified. For teaching subject like parallel programin

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are average. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 2nd semester. Some companies visit the college and offer jobs in different roles. The average package is around 3-4 LPA and the highest package depends on the company. After completing my degree, I plan to get a good job and gain experience in my field

Placements are good...lot of my friends got placed. But it even depends on individual intrests. At starting you get paid less but later on experience u can earn more. In case if placement doesn't happen you will still have the chance to explore outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MCA course curriculum is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. It covers core computer science subjects such as programming, data structures, databases, software engineering, and practical lab work, which influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a strong foundation for both real-world applications and further academic pursuits. With the support of good and experienced faculty, concepts are explained clearly through theory, practical sessions, assignments, and projects. Exams are conducted on a semester basis with internal assessments and end-semester examinations. The frequency and timing of exams are appropriate, and the difficulty level is moderate. Students who attend classes regularly and follow faculty guidance can perform well.
