How good is BIT Mesra Ranchi

The administration of the college is not that good and may not listen to the students in many cases. But this is the case in every college in India so need not worry about the same. Rest the college is really good and has a really good brand name in the market which is really important.

The revised course curriculum is really good. It covers all the topics that are important for a student in their particular field of study. Like in CSE they include all the courses related to machine learning, artificial intelligence, coding, data structures and algorithms which are really important for future growth.

Many companies visit the campus every year to provide summer internships and 6 months internships. The companies include big names like Microsoft, Amazon, DirectI, Goldman Sachs, Walmart, Flipkart, Adobe etc and many other companies. The stipend varies from 30k to 80k.

The placements are really nice and there are many job opportunities in the college. About 150+ companies visit the campus and offer job opportunities. There are almost 100% placement records and many students get multiple job offers.

There are various events that are celebrated in college. The main events include: 1. VAJRA: The annual sports fest where various college participates from all over India in many sports events. 2. PANTHEON: It is our annual tech fest in which various top colleges from India come and compete with each other in the technical field. 3. BITOTSAV: This is our annual cultural fest in which we have many cultural events and various bands and celebrities come and perform. 4. HACK A BIT: This is our annual hackathon which is the largest hackathon in east India.

The fee structure of this college is a bit of expensive but is still feasible as it is a semi-government college. But there are various scholarships and reimbursement opportunities available. The annual fees are around 2.2 lakh including hostel fees and course.

The college offers good scholarships to students who excel in academics every semester. The Birla scholarships almosts reimburse the fees paid by the student who tops in academics. I don't think that the loan facility is provided by the college but I am not sure about the same.

The labs are acquainted with the latest technology software and are really good. The college has an awesome gym where you can go and workout. There is a really good cricket ground, football field, running tracks, badminton court, volleyball courts, badminton courts and many other facilities are also provided.

The hostel is really good but the mess food is not that good. All the first year students get the rooms on double sharing basis but afterwards, all the students are provided with individual rooms. All the hostels have their night canteens and there is a lot of security around. There is no scene of ragging in the hostel as there are separate hostels for all the batches. Each hostel also has a common room where you can play table tennis or watch movies and TV.

The alumni network is really strong for this college and they are really helpful when it comes to placements or job opportunities or any other kind of help. The seniors are always helpful and help their juniors in learning various concepts and technologies so that they can get good placements and jobs. Various workshops are organized by the seniors to help the juniors.

The exam structure consists of mid-sem exams, end sem exams and 2 or 3-semester quizzes. The mid-semester is of 25 marks and end semester is of 60 marks. The rest 15 marks consist of quizzes. For labs and sessionals, there is end sem performance and lab quizzes and daily performances on the basis of which you are graded.

I cleared JEE Main, the All India entrance exam to get admission in this college. The admission process is very straight forward. First, you have to clear JEE Main and then sit for the college selection process. You have to choose all the colleges in which you prefer to study in priority. Then there are multiple rounds and in each round, you get the best option available to you from the list of colleges you have chosen. Once the counselling is over and you have chosen a college you have to visit the college to do the further registration process and pay the fees.

The faculty of the college are like okayish. They might not have full knowledge about that particular subject but will always try their level best to explain the concept to you. Some faculties are really amazing and their LOR have real value when applying for masters.
