Remarks

NITK and NIT Goa are the only colleges which have their own private beaches. Its amazing and comparatively cleaner since there are beach cleanup drives kept every year by the college which has students and others actively participating in it. College is overall awesome!

Course Curriculum Overview

5

It is good. It is a dynamic one, keeping in mind the modern technology in use out in the markets and the syllabus is updated according to that(most of it). Projects are given by teachers and taken up by students on upcoming and new topics.

Internships Opportunities

Im not sure of internship provided by college, but they do allow students to work with profs on projects of their respective fields. Stipend also Im not sure because I haven't had the experience of being a part of that other than the regular college projects.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements and job opportunities are good here. The college has earned its reputation over the years of providing some of the best candidates for companies and vice versa. So its a win-win situation for both students and companies. There is a placement department which has been taking care of this department and so far the job opportunities have been good. There are pointer cut offs that most companies keep which the students have to maintain till their 6th-7th semester to sit for placements.

College Events

5

There are various events and tests going on throughout the year. The main fests are : (i) Engineer(tech fest)- which is usually during the odd semester and (ii)Incident(cultural fest)- which is during the even semester. Both are big events with lots of sponsors and everything. During incident, some of the famous celebrities come and perform like singers, bands, etc. Apart from these 2 major fests, there are various clubs which hold their own events throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since its not a private institution, the fee is not too much(compared to a lot of other colleges). It goes around 70k-80k per year including the hostel fees. Might have increased slightly now but govt colleges won't increase the fees drastically.

Fees and Financial Aid

Im not sure about scholarships but there will be different statewide scholarships, central scholarships, defence scholarships for defence personnel's kids, etc. You will find all the info online. Loans are offered by most banks. Its quite easily available.

Campus Life

4.5

There are lot of options available for extracurricular activities. There is a sports club, huge grounds(the campus is huge since its outside the city), basketball, badminton, volleyball court, football, cricket ground, chess, carrom , etc options are there and there is swimming pool. There are different clubs for different activities like there is artist forum for art and crafts, music club for music, spic macay, DDFC(dance , drama and fashion club), etc. Lot of options.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel infrastructure is average I would say. There are few old building which are still used and a few new building are built for accommodation. Mess food is again like mess food. You can't expect that to be very good anywhere. I can say about girls hostel- food is edible and all but its the same for so long that u get tired of eating it. Best part of mess is grand dinner every month and ice creams twice a week. :) There are outside options nearby. You will survive.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes there is an alumni network. There is a alumni cell dedicated for the alumni. There are different alumni meets kept in different cities. Attending them is completely optional but they are helpful and motivating.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is variable. Every teacher is given the freedom to keep their own marking scheme, marks distribution and set of exams of which the mid-sems and end-sems are mandatory. Though their weightage canary with different profs. Some teachers take quizzes, surprise tests, etc and some give assignments or seminars. The final marks weightage is usually out of 100 and finally the pointers are decided by relative grading(GPA).

Admission

I cleared the AIEEE(All India Engineering Entrance Exam) exam(it was the exam for NITs then) and came into the merit list for getting the admission. Now there is common JEE exam for all IITs and NITs.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is decent here. Just like all colleges have their best and worst teachers, so does NITK. There are some really good profs who have a really good knowledge about their respective subjects and are able to deliver it equally well. Most of the teachers are good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
