Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course contents that we get in distance mode are as same as regular mode. Infact, this course book is that much enough so that we don't need to read any extra help book for more knowledge. The course is given in very simple language which is very easy to understand for every student. On the university portal e-gyankosh is the digital library from where we can access the course material in digital form and in different languages which could be helpful for students of different states having their different regional languages.I personally don't think that there is any need of improvements in the course curriculum because day by day as I can see the university portal is enhancing and proving all the innovative information to the students. There are lectures on the university portal from various highly qualified world wide doctorals and their guidance are top class . The exams are generally held in June and December sessions. There are two shifts for examination i.e Morning shift -10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. The examination which is for 100 marks consists of 3 hrs and for 50 marks are of 2 hours. The examination level is easy to moderate depend on how you have studied your course materials.

Internships Opportunities

5

Patna Dairy project is one of the top company which is owned by state government provide internships for student. This intership is only for learning purpose and does not consist of stipend. Generally ,the marketing and Human resource management students go for internship at this place .And the students who are enrolled for BLIS and MLIS course which is of library science course they go to IIT Patna and NIT patna for their internship and this is also unpaid internship. The projects and literature reports are given to the students in their course need to be done by doing the internship in any organization . And after that only they can submit those projects or reports . This activity cannot be skipped by students because without this they cannot get their final degree as this is a part of their course curriculum.

Placement Experience

4

After completing the course ,the students become eligible for placements. At this point ,only one company has visited is SBI Life Insurance company and the post for which they were recruited was Business Development Executive and it was a sales job both for female and male. They selected 30 students for that post. The packages that they were providing was 3.5lakh. Almost 200 students were participated and faced 3 rounds of interview. There were students from different backgrounds i.e B.tech, B.A, B.com, M.A , etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees that I was paying amounted 17000 apart from this 500 was paid as registration fees in which development fee was also included. As per above information, Rs.8700 is per semester fee. This fee is applicable to all the students. For filling exam form Rs 200 will be paid for each subject in online mode. There are scholarships for girls who will complete their graduation will get scholarship of amount 50,000 from state goverment of bihar to encourage the education for girl child. This scholarship name is Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana . And for boys , National scholarship will be given who belongs from SC/ST category and they have to apply on National Scholarship portal .

Campus Life

5

The annual festival that were held was convocation day .This event is celebrated every year during March month. All the student comes on this day in university and receives the degree by the chief guests and they also get a token for lunch which is free of cost provided by the university. As, we know this is a distance university but it has a big library in which almost 7,000 books are available and open for students to study. Those students who are enrolled for BLIS , MLIS , B.TECh , BSc ,MSC ,etc courses in which practical papers are included seperate labs are provided for these students. Various extra co-curricular eactivities are also offered on campus , on the occassion of 15 august there was painting competition organised and easy writing competition also. There is a student portal named i-gram on which students used to post their queries everyday and it get resolved within a week .

Admission

I didn't applied for any other college only I have applied for B.com course in IGNOU university and I got confirmation for the same. I have applied through online mode and payment of fees was also done in online through card payment. The eligibility criteria for this college was only 12th passed.I choosed this college because I was persuing my company secretary course so I have to take admission in distance mode and IGNOU is a central government University with certified accreditation and its value is in all over the world. There was no any entrans examination for students .Candidates get direct admissions and there are no cutoff issues. The admission process was very smooth and easy anyone can apply by themself. On the university portal video tutorial is also given to guide the students and also pdf is also given of full admission process. My experience is very good for the overall admission process.

Faculty

5

If the total number of students are 60 then only one faculty will take the session and if the number increases then number of faculty may vary. Those faculties are understanding and they also co-operate with students because they are getting paid for that.It is not appropriate to take name of faculty because there are many faculties for same course and if students are not satisfied with one then they get changed. There are yearly exams in B.com .The course curriculum is very much relevant because in exams all questions are coming from the study material itself. And if the students are reading those materials seriously then ,they will pass the exam with good marks. As everyone knows that IGNOU provides more than sufficient study materials which are often used for UPSC exams by the aspirants.

Night Life

5

Yes, there is library in university which is open for students from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. There are parking areas, gardens , there is also an ayurvedic gardens where the students have planted various herbs on different occasions in plantation work. Outside the university campus , there is a big public park which is open for all. Beside the university ,there is another university named Chandragupta Institute of Management. Overall the locality is very safe and good environment .Very peaceful and also it may be called as educational universities hub.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
