Sydenham College

One negative remark which I would like to share is my college is not so strict with the FYJC students in terms of attendance. Most of the college marks 75% compulsory attendance but my college doesn't supports or obeys that.

The teachers are well dedicated on giving their knowledge to the students. Complete Textbook content is taught here with timely unit tests and Semester Exams taking place to ensure the students are performing well.

I am still an FYJC (11th Standard) student so I don't have too much of idea but some seniors of my college told to me that my college provides good internship from various companies to the students here.

I am still an FYJC (11th standard) aspirant so I have very less information about placments and job opportunities in my college but the job opportunities provided here are also very well mostly provided my companies of Mumbai.

My college organizes many events and fests. Minimum one event in a month.Few events which I remember are :- Rasoi,Yountre,Concord,Sargam,Dhun etc and our main annual fest 'Brouhaha'. Last year I was also a part of the annual fest as a logistics member and it was a great experience.

The fee structure of Sydenham College is very affordable as it is a Government College. The fees of FYJC for boys in this college is just ?875 and as I took French as an additional subject, I had to pay ?4000 more.

My college provides good amount of scholarship to the low castes / scheduled caste or the other backward class students and also to those students whose family income is less than ? one lakh a year. It is great step been taken by my college.

There are bunch of Activities and Sports Competitions in my college which includes performing arts programs, indoor and outdoor games, weekly assignments etc. Overall they are very beneficial and also entertaining to the students as they provide a refreshing and enthusiastic mood to the students.

The infrastructure of Sydenham College is perfect. I loved when I saw the college for the very first time. The college gives a look of old british infrastructures as the college were made by them and the classrooms too are very large enough to hold 120 students altogether with ease.

The senior students of Sydenham College are also very good. As mentoned above, when I was a part of my college fest I met with many senior students and they were all very well mannered and humble people who were also sharing their college experience with the junior students.

The exam structure is very well created by college beginning with the First unit after 2 months of Academic year and first semester after 2 months and the same happens in the second half of the Academic year.

My admission to this college was depended on the merit list where students with 430+ marks in the third merit list were been selected and I was selected too. Then I had to visit the college and fill the admission form and I was admitted to the college.

The faculty of the college is also very practical and punctual as they seem to be very dutiful. Anyone can seek to ask help from them without ajy hesitations. Overall the faculty department of Sydenham College is good.
