The Overview of Life a Jamia's Life

I generally choose mechanical Engineering because of the fluid mechanics as it is very relavent to the morden day application. The professor teaching the subject is highly qualified and also have practical experience. The curriculum give a browed idea of the real world application. The area of improvements are the practical labs in which the equiments were not working, the mechatronics and CAD subjects and labs must be taught with intrest. The exams are not that frequent and the level of exams are moderate.

The students are eligible to sit on placement from there 7th semester but you can also have pre-placement offers in your 5th semester. Midea made 5 offers, L&T made 13 offers, Yamaha Made 3 offers and more companies are still to visit thsi year. The Highest package is 7.5 lpa offered by Midea and the average is 4.5 lpa. 25% student have been palced till now this year. The average percentage of students getting palced is 67%.

In first year the fees will be 16550, for 2nd year it will be 13550, for 3rd year it will be 14800 and for 4th year it will be 14550 approx. Tution fee = 2200, Examination fee = 1000, Lab caution fee = 200, Library/Lab fee = 800, Games fee = 600 and others. For other non self financed courses the 1st and 2nd year fees were same but the third year fees is 13550. There is a Alumina Association scholarship.

There are lots of socities in university which organises it's own cultural and technical fests. The biggest fest in faculty of engineerng is organised by the cultural councile and at university level it is orgnised by collabration of the socities. The technical fest were also organised by the socities. For the Engineering students there are the faculty library and also central library of the library so most of the books and jouranls are present in the library. Every classroom has a projector installed. In sports and extracuricular activities Faculty of engineering has its own sports councile reponsible for organising sports fest and also there are inter-faculty tournament organised by the University. The university has its own sports complex well equiped with indoor complex too. In extracurricular activities the socities organies various workshops and events.

Depending upon the Hostel you were getting the size of the room depends. In the room you'll get one bed, one closet, and study tabel with a chair. The meal quality is average, the menu is well maintained ant the meals were according to the menu. For renting room the best place is New friends colony but if you get room or PG in batla house, Abul fazal enclave, and zakir nagar then also it's good.

I have accepted to BIT sindri in electronics, NIT srinagar in Mechanical, BIT meshra in Chemical and University of Assam in computer Science. I choose Jamia Millia Islamia because it is a Central University and Ranked at 3 and the faculty were highly qualified. To get the admission you have to give JEE entrance, you must have filled Jamia for, and according to your JEE score you'll get the branch. The cutoffs are close to 92 percentile in JEE mains.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:13. Most of the Faculty are very supportive and cooprative. All the faculties are very approachable. The faculties i really prefer are Prof. Dr. A.N siddiquee, Prof. Z.A Khan, Prof. Anil Kumar Sharma, M.N Karimi, Prof. Javad, Dr. Azhar Iqbal, Dr Osama, Dr. Rashid and Prof Shoaib. All the faculties mentioned above are very helpful and supportive having good knowledge of there subjects. The best Faculties are Prof. Dr. A.N Siddiquee, Prof. Anil Kumar Sharma, Prof Javad and Prof. Z.A Khan. Prof. DR. Zulkarnain Malik is the prof i don't prefer because of his teaching style and his management skill. There are 2 internal exams and one semester exam. All the exams are of moderate level. Very a few numbers of students fails to clear the exam. The new Courses are very relevant to lay the foundatio stone of mechanical engineering.

There are lots of cafeterias one in the Engineering faculty itself were peoples used to hangout and faculty libraray open till 5 PM and after that university also has reading hall open till 12 AM. The best hangout place inside the University is gate no- 8 near DSW (department of student welfare) building and also central canteen. The places safe to roam at night is New Friends Colony
