Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is still old. I don't feel like they will be of much use for today's date. Like Engineering drawing they still teach using drafter and papers unlike other colleges that teach Auto Cad instead. The examination are approximately 1.5 months apart.
Internships Opportunities
Interships can be done from the 2nd year that can be stipend based. From 3rd year professors may also help provide interships with the companies they have ties up with or in different colleges. The college allows studdents to take up summer internship or year long interships
Placement Experience
From the end of 3 year i.e 6th semester students are eligible for placements. Many well known companies visit our campus. Like Google, L n T, Infosys, Tata all branches, bosch, boeing etc The average package last year was around 12-13lpa With maximum being 67lpa Around 80%+ are placed Evey year. With my branch mechanical having highest percentage last year it was around 95%.

Campus Life
The social aspect of VNIT is very good. As it is a government college the exposure of students is very good. The clubs in the college are also great. I am in the dramatics club Hallabol they participate in many competitions and do many plays. I am in the movie making genre which is also pretty active. The sports opportunities is also very good with almost every main sports available. Personally I like the badminton courts which are of international standards
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are very spacious. There are 2 hostels for 1st year the ground floor is 3 seater 1st and 2nd floors are 2 seater. They provide fan, bed, table, chair. For summer you are allowed to bring coolers.
Admission
I applied for all the better colleges than VNIT based on nirf Ranking only mechanical. I did not get accepted because my rank was not sufficient enough for my admission. The admission process started just after the counselling. The process was lengthy and time taking. For admission you need to score food enough in JEE mains. Cutoff may vary for my year it was about 30k rank approx for general category
Faculty
Most of the faculties i had till now is good enough except a few. The faculties are very knowledgeable and will try to help and clear any doubts. If the hostel warden is your professor then even in hostel he will clear your doubts( namely deepesh patel, and ramsha sir) The exams are not really easy to score above 9 pointer in subject.
Night Life
The night life in VNIT for 1st year is not too great they have in time of 8:00pm. The hostel has night canteens and there are 2 canteens in the college overall( excluding night canteen). The gym is very big and very well maintained but there are timings for it for 1styears it is 6-8 am only
Other Applied Colleges
NIT Trichy | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)
Rank was not enough(home state)
