The field of Geology is very much interesting and important field for the Country's economic development and also very much aware in the human activities on Environment. Our Department is one of the oldest department in our University. DST-FIST sponsored. In our department many research activities were undertaken. In fact, my department carried out more number of research activities in the Science faculty. More than 15 Research Scholars are currently doing their research. For the Final year students of M.Sc, dissertation project is must to complete to finish their Master's Degree

Yes, my University provides the internship to the pre-final year students. I went to the GSI (Geological Survey of India) which is the Central government Organisation. They are carrying the mineralogical exploration in India.

For my field no placements were carried out, because for all the high ranking jobs we need to write the competitive examination. For that they are providing free coaching classes for TNPSC, UPSC, banking exam and other common exams.

Science day in the month of February Earth Day in the month of April World Water Conservation day in the month of Febuary Pongal Festival, Diwali festival Intra University Sports activities Freshers and Farewell Parties carried out by Individual Departments Many National Seminars.

Our University is the A grade university accredited by the NAAC comity. So the tuition fee, exam fee and hostel fee are feasible. The charges for the analytical instruments are also much lesser when compared to the other Universities

Scholarship and loan facilities are available for the SC/ST community students. The Students whose parents are farmers are getting the scholarship and the first graduate students are also experiencing the Scholarship.

The University is very much interested in producing the talents from the student. many competitions were conducted by the Department level, Faculty level, University level and inter-university level.

Our University hostel rooms are good to stay and surrounded my nice and peaceful environment. Though we need slight improvement in the hostel infrastructure. No Luxurious rooms are available, but it is good enough to stay for the students.

Yes, the comments from the alumni are really encouraging us. The thing is we need to complete the course with good marks or we need to over come in the common examinations.

Two internals per semester, model practical exam and followed by University practicals and Theroy exam. The theory exam carries 75 marks and other 25 marks for internals. That includes assignment, seminars, attendance.

Am very much interested in the the filed of Geosciences.There are 6-7 colleges that offers Geology cources. I preferred to do my degree in Universities. So, I opted for Pondicherry University but the entrance exam got over. Then my next choice is my Annamalai University. So I came and applied here.They selected my application through merit basis. The interaction of the Faculty members with us, give me some kind of confident.

The Faculty of Science is expanding their research in many fields. All the research activities are sponsored by the UGC, DST-FIST. The advanced instrumentation helps our faculty to do more researches.
