the curriculum is good and seems to cover a wide range of topics so the students know the basics which can help them choose which is the subject they'll like to focus more in the future. It also includes a lot of project and internship based learning

some of the companies are jp morgan, cemens are some of the companies that offer internship and the stipend is about 30 to 50k the hackathons are a good way to get extra points in being accepted in interships although the main focus is still more on the cse side that biotech

from 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements some of the companies that visit are deloit, Hp, cemens, Jp morgan, microsoft, TATA, infosys etc and more than 10000 offers are made highest pacakage 1cr and the average being 7 lakhs the percentage of students that get placements 80% I plan on studying further and completing my masters after my degree

If one scores well in srmjee then they can avail a full scholarship under the condition that they maintain a cgpa of 9.5 and above or else the fees per year for the biotechnology core course is 2.85 lakhs for the next four years the fees is the same for everyone in the batch and there are no categories there are multiple scholarship opition eg: for childern of deffence personals, those who lost a parent etc

the annual cultural fest is milan and the annual technical fest is aarush...typically aarush is held during the odd semester (june to december) and the milan is held during the even semester (jan to may) the library consists of 3 floors and has a lost of space for students to sit and browse they even give students acces to the e-library and have all the past papers stores in electronic form even the ct papers are available every classroom has a projector fixed and the university building has ac in all classrooms

the hostel fees for a non ac room is somewhere between 1.5 to 2 lakhs depending the type of room one choses while its nearly 3 lakhs for an ac room the food is alright at best the rotis are usually half cooked or extremely hard while the menu sounds great the food taste isn't that great the booking of hostel is even more stressful and difficult than booking an IRCTC ticket...many students are left without a room as well more hostels are extremely necessary as they are seriously unequipped for the student population present

some of the other colleges I applied to are hindustan, stayabhama and vit vellore and I did get accepted to them all but eventually I decided on SRM as it has better lab facilites and also pays more attention to bio- related subjects and doesn't consider it a secondary course like in VIT which was one of my more major concerns and hence i dropped that as option

the faculty to student ratio is good and most of the faculty are great but there are many professors who do not teach and only share the ppt and leave students to fend for themselves and Dr Sujatha who teaches cell bio is extremely strict and the class is not interactive at all and learning is difficult to do when students are more anxious about her mood

the intime for girls hostel is from 6.31 to 6.59pm and hence there isn't much of a night life for the women while the boys have an intime of 9pm although extra time is provided for those who wish to go to the library girls: 8.15 pm boys:11pm as a girl considering i'm not allowed out after 6.30 i do not know much about the nightlife of the campus
