Remarks

The South Indian people don’t treat you well if you are from north India, food facilities are really good, they want you to keep studying if you try to involve in practical learning they may not support you because tamilians have a typical keep on studying thinking, they have the worst gym facilities, hostel lifts are okish

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Initially it was a bit difficult to understand but comparing to other indian school VIT is doing their best but whatever the indian colleges are teaching, they are really behind from the industry so does the VIT

Internships Opportunities

Yes , they give you many opportunities through placements only. Just like jobs you have to apply for the internship and you are paid well also if you are working in a very good project. If you are from CS, certainly you will be paid well

Placement Experience

4.5

I would say VIT has the best placements all over India but more towards the CS branch, ECE ECM people also get chance to sit in CS companies so they are safe but mechanical people don’t get this opportunity and I feel sad for the civil branch, they get company once in a while which is really poor.

College Events

1.5

VIT has two campuses in south India one is chennai and other is Vellore In chennai the technical event is TechoVIT and in Vellore it is GraVITas whereas the cultural fest are riviera and few more, fest are okish

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is expensive I feel but the amenities are so good that they are worth but for a middle class family it is expensive, but nowadays even the IITs are getting really costlier so it is okay to spend the money if you are not in civil branch

Fees and Financial Aid

I have no clue about the scholarship , but if you stood first in the academics every semester you get some money, the top ten get some money as a reward along with a certificate, so it is really necessary for students to study well in VIT

Campus Life

4.5

Everything is excellent if we talk about labs and activities, in sports they are okish but they are not really putting efforts to grow the career of a student in sports but the students are so diverse that they make good teams by their own

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are really good but poor thing I feel now is the wastage of water because of no washing machines on each floor, I have seen people flowing buckets while washing clothes and it also takes so much time , which I feel was good in our time but nowadays they have washing machine

Alumni/Alumna

Since I have become an alumni this year I am not really sure about the network, but I was told by the alumni head about the meeting keep on happening all around the world , as I am living in US I would be glad if I get a chance to attend any of there meetings

Exam Structure

Cat and fat are the acronyms used in VIT, comprehensive assessments and final assessments, there are two CAT exams and one FAT exam in each semester. CAT has 15%weightave and FAT has 40 % weightage and remaining 30 percent from the assignments which are given on daily basis

Admission

I gave VITEEE for which I prepared really well but didn’t really score good rank. So my counseling was in 2nd phase and I got my branch in 2nd category that means more the rank more the fees you have to pay. We have to go for counseling then you confirm your seat

Faculty

2.5

When you go to South India, being a North Indian you are not treated that well, but if you try to be good with them they may treat you well but mostly they will be partial in many ways to you. You may do your best but local people will be preferred over you many times

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

Placement Experience:

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.

The students become elgible for placements right from the 5th semester of their course work. The students who have no standing arrears become elgibile in the first place. There are many companies visiting the college where Infosys, Cognizant, Virtusa are the mass recruiters. The are many other companies like TCS, Wipro, Zoho etc. visiting the college placement drive. On overall 90% of students gets placed every year. The highest package of 25lakhs per annum was offered by amazon for 3 students. My plans after getting degree is to get placed in any of the company.
