Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose economics & analytics because of the blend of two demanding positions of economics and IT. In our curriculum we have subjects like python, SQL, financial markets. The curriculum is nicely prepared but there is some lack in practical knowledge integration which is being improved continuously

Internships Opportunities

4

I worked for Great place to work as a consultant intern with a stipend of 15,000 per month. My role was to be in direct touch with clients and to work for their company betterment. I got my internship from college only.

Placement Experience

3

Campus placements starts in 5th Semester in the month of September and goes till May. Various big names like Morgan stanley, JP morgan, deloitte, KPMG, ICICI, Barclays etc with the opening of 20 positions. Some companies did mass hiring too. Our placements are still going on but the highest package till now has been 15 LPA and the average package ranges around 7-8 LPA. Roles offered are consulting, marketing, etc. With most of the students appearing for masters around 70% who seriously took placements got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees for my course i.e. Bachelors in Economics & Analytics is 95,000 which makes to 2,85,000 for the three year course. This is the total feed which includes all the other fees. Our college does not have any reservations other than Gujrati quota but the fees is same. Various scholorships are available in the college which you can check with your eligibility criteria

Campus Life

2

Overall experience of college has been quite decent as we have many committees in all domains like incubation cell, research cell, finance and investment cell etc. The mian college fest is Umang which takes place in the month of September. Other than that we have around 4-5 fests like Insught, Techfest, Arithmos etc. Library has access of all types of books and novels which you can access both offline amd online. Classrooms are fully furnished and well maintained. NM participates in all kind of sports and co curricular activities.

Admission

I always wanted to come in Narsee monjee college of commerce & economics. Firstly, due to the exposure you get from the city, Mumbai and then the brand value of college. I applied for NM, mithibai and Jai hind with the priority list as mentioned. I got admission in Jai hind but at the same time in NM, so I took my admission in NM. The admission criteria when I took admission was the common entrance test of NM and mithibai named as MINCET and according to your score you get the admission. The cutoff was highest in BMS and then BFM

Faculty

4

Faculty of NM is very nice and educated you can approach them easily and they guide students through it. Mrs Anjali ved, Mr Siddhant gupta, Mrs Rabia khatun etc are the faculties I personally like as the method of their teaching is very practical. They keep the clsss lively with proper blend of studies and fun. Some teachers I can't name are a but strict and less understanding. We have 1 exam as main semester end examand 1 internals in each semester. Difficulty level is moderate. In my course only 1 students has failed till now.

Interview Experience

1

No there was not group discussion, interview. When I tool admission it was a common entrance test of Nm & mithibai namely MINCET and on the basis of your score cut off list was made of differ courses which has bow been discontinued and they have started given admission on the basis of class 12th marks

Night Life

1

NM don't have campus so only committees are allowed to stay in classrooms with permissions. You can sit in londary or canteen. We have gym in our college. NM doesn't have a hostel of its own but have some affiliated hostel which are quite expensive so not aware of that.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
