A look inside VIT Chennai

To an extent u can make your own time table hear and choose the professor u want, the frequency of exams is high so it's a bit hectic ....................................................................

After the 2nd year, it is compulsory to do an summer internship, to almost 50% of students, internships are provided by VIT itself, and those are actually very nice VIT also focuses on hand-on experience on engeneering projects from first year itself thru various courses like DSD, IOE...

As of my knowledge campus placements in my college starts from the 7th semester and it offers 100% placements till last year. Companies like microsoft, google, infosys, meta ,etc visits my college every year.

There are five categories for my course which are decided by your VITEEE rank (admission exam for VIT) and the branch u took in counseling, the tution fees per year for 1st category is around 2 lakhs, for 2nd category is 3 lakhs and it goes on..and hostel and mess fees per year is around 2 lakhs too + caution fees of 15000 ruppees

There r 2 annual events in my college, one cultural and one technical, tht is vibrance a 4 day cultural fest and techno VIT, a 3 day technical fest VIT is occupied with highly functional le and accessible library There r more than 100 active clubs in this college including both cultural and technical clubs

In comparison to other colleges of the region the hostel facility is very good, housekeeping is done every day and laundry is done every week, washroom area is generally clean There r a few apartments near the college in which u can rent flats

I tried for BITs but I did not get the branch i wanted and this college was offering the branch i wanted so I chose this college over it. For taking admission in VIT, first u have to give an example named VITEEE, then apply for counseling and full in the branch u want, if u get alloted the branch u filled in, after tht the rest of the procedure is easy

Most of the faculties are approachable and u can build a good faculty student relationship, the exams are not that difficult and the concept of relative marking makes it easier, there will be 3 sets of exams overall excluding those of labs.

All students are to report back to their hostels at night, for girls it is 8pm and for boys it 9pm except if u r in library, that too till midnight, and if u take part in overnight hackathons u r allowed to be outside
