Course Curriculum Overview

5

Curriculum relevance and comprehensiveness The course covers essential subjects like accounting economics business studies and law which provide a solid foundation for career in finance accounting and management. The structure is well designed for students looking to pursue professional courses like CA, CS or MBA letter on. Why I choose BCom from mlnc One of the biggest reason for choosing BCom at mlnc was the structure syllabus and the reputation of Delhi University. The affordability combined with decent faculty and the weight of du degree, made it a good option. Plus the subject seemed relevant for future job prospects. How well it prepare for the real world The course provides a strong theoretical base it legs practical exposure. The curriculum doesn't focus much on current industry Trends like digital marketing, fintech or Data Analytics which are becoming crucial in today's job market. There is also not much emphasis on internships or practical training, which could really helps students apply what they learn. Some areas which need improvement are - • more practical exposure • updated syllabus[ including subjects like Data Analytics financial Modelling and digital business could make student more industry ready ] • better teaching methods[ some professor still relay heavily on textbook based learning rather than interactive discussions.

Placement Experience

3

Placement at Motilal Nehru College for B.Com program are decent but not strong as some of the Other top DU colleges like SRCC or Hindu College. The placement cell is active and student who put in the effort can secure good opportunities. The eligibility for campus placement is like student usually become eligible for placement in their final year that is 5th semester onwards. The placement cell organises training sessions as you may building workshops and mock interviews to help student prepare for the recruitment process. Complete that visited mlnc and give job offers are- Big four companies( deloitte, KPMG PwC and EY) Finance and consulting firms( DE Shaw, Wipro, accenture) The highest package was 18.7 lpa offered by top finance and consulting firm and average package moves around 6 lpa and the median package is approximately 5 lpa. These figures look good but only the top performing students land such high packages many students and up securing jobs with packages between ?3 - 5 lpa. The overall placement rate for B.Com students at mlnc is around 40 to 50% this means that while there are opportunities, not everyone get placed directly through campus drives. My plans after BCom Personally I plan to either pursue an MBA in finance or look up for of Campus job opportunities in the banking and finance sector. while MLNC provides a good platform IT field gaining more certifications like CFA or financing model courses. My final thoughts are placement at mlnc are good but not great and students need to be proactive in building skills, networking and applying off campus if they want better job opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid yearly fees near about approximately ?11000 and yes Motilal Nehru college provide variety of scholarship. The merit based scholarship are awarded to 6 students annually based on their academic performance in University examination. There is no discrimination in fees for the students of different categories. There are free concession and scholarships available for certain reserved categories. The college maintain a uniform fee structure for all the students.

Campus Life

5

I can confidently say that the campus life hair is both vibrant and enriching. Annual and Technical festivals One of the highlights of mlnc is its dynamic cultural scene the college host two major festivals : First is Phoenix - This is annual cultural fest typically held in April. Phoenix brings the campus to life with a variety of events including music dance and art exhibitions. Second days Kaafila - Another significant cultural fest kaafila is celebrated with great enthusiasm it features a range of competitions such as the Quest,Mukam, Dhamaal,Spark and Aarohi providing students with platforms to showcase their talent. Library resources The emergency library is a Treasure trove for students boasting over 115000 volumes and approximately 104 journal and magazine titles. Classroom facilities The college ensures a conductive learning environment with well maintained classrooms. Eid classroom is equipped with modern air conditioning techniques. The campus is also Wi-Fi enabled allowing students to access online resource seamlessly. Sports and extra curricular activities Mlnc places a strong emphasis on Holistic development. The college offers facilities for both outdoor and endor sports including hockey football basketball volleyball table tennis Carrom wrestling and powerlifting. These encourage student to engage in physical activities and maintain a balance lifestyle. Student also run societies The societies like Ambrosia it is a Commerce society, economics society, in actors which is a social working society and many more societies like tedx. In conclusion I will say that my journey at mlnc has been a blend of academic learning and personal growth. The vibrant campus life couple with ample opportunities for extra curricular engagement has equipped me with skills and memories that I Will cherish Forever.

Admission

Choosing a colleges a big decision and for me Motilal Nehru College ended a being the best fit for my BCom Degree but the journey to getting here wasn't exactly smooth. I also applied for other colleges but I didn't get in them due to High Cutoff. Colleges I applied to and my admission outcomes Like most student aiming for a BCom from Delhi University,I applied to multiple colleges open to get into the best one possible the colleges i considered were- • Sri Venkateswara College = I applied for it because it has a great reputation, strong commerce faculty and an active campus life. • Shahid Bhagat Singh College= I applied for SBSC college because it is well known for its bcom program and good placement opportunities. •Motilal Nehru College= It has decent faculty du tagged degree and a solid commerce curriculum. Unfortunately I didn't make it into Sri Venkateswara College and SBSC college because my marks will short of the cut off. Why mlnc is good • mlnc has a mix of experienced in young professors who are approachable. • course structure like BCom syllabus is very well structured covering all essential topics in finance accounting and business • location and convenience as emergency is well connected and makes commuting easier • campus environment like the crowd is decent and while the infrastructure isn't Top nose it's good enough to support Academy and extra curricular activities. Why I couldn't get into other colleges The main reason I missed out on Sri Venkateswara College and SBSC was their high cut off.Dispite having a good percentile I feel short by a small margin. It was disappointing but that's the reality of DU admission cutoffs can be unpredictable. Admission process at mlnc The admission process at emergency like other Delhi University colleges is based on CUET scores and merit lists. Here is how it works: 1. Eligibility criteria 2. Exams accepted ( c u e t ) 3. cut off trends 4. Admission process like CSAS portal

Faculty

5

Motilal Nehru College maintenance of faculty to student ratio ranging from 20:1 to 25:1 and then sure personalized attention for students. Some renowned faculty members who help students with their studies more are Divya Gupta Mam and Amit Tanwar sir. In examination system and marking scheme the college follows a semester based examination system with each academic year divided into two semester. 25% of the total marks are allocated to internal assessment. The examinations are not that tough these are like every student can pass the exams easily. Motilal Nehru College offers supportive Academy environment with accessible faculty are elegant and up to date karikulam and a fair assessment system that collectively contribute to the Holistic development of its students. The attendance component is graded as follows : 67%-70%=1mark 70%-75%=2marks 75%-80%=3marks 80%-85%=4marks 85% and above= 5marks

Interview Experience

5

For admission to become program at Motilal Nehru College Delhi University The selection process primarily revolves around the common University entrance test that is cuet. Unlike some other Institutions there was no requirement for group discussions personal interviews or additional return test beyond CUET. The test pattern for CET include multiple choice questions assessing knowledge in subjects like accounting Eco business and mathematics ensuring that candidates head a strong Foundation understanding of commerce related concept. To prepare for CET I focused on strengthening my conceptual knowledge in commerce subject by revising NCERT textbooks and practicing previous year question papers. Time management was crucial as the exam had a strict time Limited with multiple selection to complete. Mock test played an essential role in improving accuracy and speed helping me get familiar with the exam pattern since the admission was married based securing a good score was the key to getting into my prestigious college like Motilal Nehru College.

Night Life

5

Mlnc is located in South Campus do you which means there is no shortage of places to chill after classes. While the college itself doesn't have a happening nightlife the nearby Satya Niketan market and Rajouri Garden of a plenty of late night options for food entertainment and unwinding with friends. The college hours are usually from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. depending on class schedules. Cafeteria open stil around 5:06 p.m. the food is decent but more student prefer heading to Satya Niketan for better options. Mlnc doesn't have a dedicated gym but there are multiple fitness centre in Satya Niketan for those who want to workout. Hostel and campus in timings : Emergency doesn't have its own hostel for students is a living PGS rented flats or do hostels in other colleges. PGS in the area usually have a curfew between 10 to 11 p.m. but some allow late entries. Satya Niketan is the student hub of South Campus filled with multiple cafes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
