Likes
- The campus is small but nice, it has places to just sit and chill with your friends
- The cafeteria and it's good is nice and reasonable, our college has 3 cafeterias
- Some of the teachers are very helpful and considerate towards students
Dislikes
- The campus is very small and the college itself is in a very village area
- Faculty is mid, most of the teachers don't know what they are teaching
- The fest is avg, college takes way too much money but doesn't spend money on fests
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is old, and doesn't really align with the now-a-day's needs, it needs improvement We have to give 2 semester exams each year, 8 internals and 4 practical internals per year, the semester exams mostly takes place around December and June
Placement Experience
Placements are normal, doesn't give very good placements but tcs and wipro visits and recruits lots of people. In 2024 tcs alone recruited 250 students from our college and other companies comes as well, mostly mass recruiters
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees (for 2022 batch) is 5.5 lakh rupees, yearly it would be around 1.3 lakh but the fees increases every 1/2 year, it should be around 7 lakhs now Svmcm scholarship is available for students who passed their 12th boards from west bengal board but they must have 6.7+ cgpa in a year
Campus Life
One annual fest It's pretty big Got many clubs. Anyone can join clubs. Annual sports event occurs and tech fest as well The classrooms have projectors and AC and wifi as well We have for library and sitting area with ac and wifi
Admission
Most of the colleges in Kolkata needs wbjee rank, I opted for many colleges but with my rank (11k) i got nsec (2022 ranking) The admission process is simple you can do it from wbjee portal, there is 3 allotment chances
Faculty
The CSE faculty is mid, not that nice, some are good most of them are bad, IT dept faculty is much better, the college is under makaut university so all the exams are taken under makaut's rules and regulations and the university sets questions
Night Life
No night life in college, college closes at 6 pm, no one can enter after that College has no hostel You have to rent a flat or pg Many pgs are available near the college. And we have gym but and cafeteria (3)
Other Applied Colleges
Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College - [JGEC] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Although it provides good packages and good an amazing campus life,it was way too far away from Kolkata and i couldn't qualify for it as the cut off was low
