Remarks

Motilal Nehru College is one the oldest college of University of Delhi. It's not the best college but yes it is an above-average college of DU. The fee structure and faculty is good but they should provide hostel facility because they have a lot of un used land. They should also try to get sponsors so that the quality of events can be raised. The overall environment and experience of college are good. One can trust this college and take admission in it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The courses are really good. DU has changed their syllabus in the year 2015 and New Syllabus is based more on Practical than theory. MLNC is a regular college so our exams happen Twice a year (Semester wise) Odd Semester Exam (1/3/5) happens in the month of December and Even Semester Exam (2/4/6) happens in the month of May. The level of difficulty of exams is also not high. Usually, the Semester exams are of 75 marks.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college has a Placement Cell. This year from August - October KPMG, EY, PwC and many other companies visited the campus for Placement with the average of 3.3-3.5 LPA. They also provide Internships and Workshops. I was a Summer Intern at Sharekhan and also done the workshop at NSE. They offer internships in good companies like OYO, Yes Bank, etc.

College Events

3

This is something that MLNC lacks on. The level of the event is not good. Some main events are Speakers Meet - An Event in which they call celebrities to speak. Freshers - Usually happens in October. Fest - Usually happens in March. Farewell - Happens in April. But the level of all the event is below par. They don't get many sponsors.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. My first-year fees were 4700+900 Examination fees. 2nd Year - 5400. 3rd Year - 8200. MLNC is famous for its low fees however from the year 2019 they've increased the fees up to 70-80%. Still one can easily afford it. Even after the increase, it is one of the cheapest colleges in term of fees in Delhi University.

Fees and Financial Aid

My father is an Income Taxpayer so I can't avail the scholarship. The fees of the college are very low and only those who are in a deep need can apply for Scholarship. They have to submit a form which is easily available in college and submit that with Income Tax details to the college faculty. Attendance of the student is being considered for Scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender Ratio is like 6:5 for Boys and Girls. People from all across the Nation comes in MLNC which makes it diverse. Lab facility of college is good. It also depends on subject to subject and Faculty to Faculty but other extracurricular activities are not very good but College really focus on Sports. Our team of Football is among the best team in Delhi NCR. They focus on other sports too.

Alumni/Alumna

College doesn't have any Alumni Network. They usually call Alumni in Annual Meet but those who are living in Delhi NCR or those who check college website can know that. They don't try to contact. Senior Student Interaction of the college is good though and Seniors are really helpful. Generally, we meet seniors during elections.

Admission

On the basis of my marks in class 12th I got admission in this college. For the purpose of Calculation of marks, best 4 subjects are considered which includes a language subject and 3 other subjects. DU doesn't consider Physical Education as a part of 4 subjects. DU realises its annual Cuttoff from the month of June. Before that, you have to Register first which generally starts after the declaration of 12th Result.

Faculty

4

The faculty is good as well as experienced. Especially of Commerce Department. However, there are subjects for which faculty is not available and they hire guest lecturers or faculty on a temporary basis. But those are also really hardworking and knowledgeable peoples.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
