Course Curriculum Overview

4

Here, in this college, just like other colleges, focuses on Theory over Practical, where instead they need to focus on Practical over Theory. They provide the Theory very lately when until by then, we forget some things that creates confusions. Lately, I mean, what we do in theories now, will be held after 1 year in practicals. I'm happy that FYUGP system has been implemented to this college too, so we get Subjects for the development of Skills, Ability, but nothing is taught seriously. I hate strictness, but they can improve the college by being more strict, by focusing on practicals, assignments, project works, etc. Exams are held normally, i.e., thrice a semester as I've mentioned on the previous page.

Internships Opportunities

4

Here, an internship is provided by the college or the education council each year. All the students can apply for it by following some criterias like- i)- Citizen of Assam ii)- Good Percentage iii)- Low Annual Income of Parents Etc, I don't remember now... Students achieve around ?50,000 to ?75,000 from the internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did my Higher Secondary in here itself, i,e., Digboi College, Tinsukia, Assam. I joined the Degree too with a 1 year gap after HSS, and took admission with free wavier as my parents' income is below 2 lakhs per annum. I had to pay ?650 when I first joined in degree, while some of the others had to around ?7800, even if it's a government college. And now in 2nd Sem, I had to pay ?900, equivalent for the others also. I don't know much about caste reservation system here of how they apply, but they do differentiate between the different castes. For my batchmates, with different castes, it doesn't matter about the caste when it's about the fees, it only matters on the time of reservation. During admission, they only ask if our parents' annual income is below 2 lakhs. So, for my batchmates, they have to pay the same like me unless they don't have income certificate with annual income of below 2 lakhs or from other states. Other states I mean, if they are from other states or with no income certificate, they have to take admission as private (only during 1st admission), then the rest is same for all... This college is good for everyone who understands Assamese, English specially. Teachers cooperates in Hindi, also in some other languages of available... The counter people are not punctual here, canteens are not that clean and don't cook well. You'll have to walk up a small hill to reach the college... My eyes are paining or else I could type more. Thank you.

Campus Life

3

Overall experience with the campus is very poor, low budget infrastructure, areas not that clean, plastics everywhere and also students carry Tobacco, spit here and there, just like average Indian with zero civic sense. Also just like some of you who are reading my review (not all). Games and sports are held as Annual College Week in the month of January or February each year. Varieties of games and sports are held, but the college ground isn't that good enough.

Admission

I've chosen this college as there was no other option. All I applied for was 2 admission for two different departments in this same college, one was from commerce and the other is from science. I accepted to continue in science despite being poor in maths. I appeared for PAT, I got selected but had to reject as I didn't have my PRC and NCL ready.

Faculty

4

Facilities are available to all the students without any discrimination because there's no proper faculty. Department's teachers/professors tries to bunk classes more than the students, or if they don't bunk, they'll teach fast and try to leave the session, not all departments', but some. Some of the faculties I like is that exams are held frequently and on time. Others, I forgot a few... Exams are held thrice a semester, 2 sessionals and 1 semester exam. Sessionals are set to be easy and semesters are difficult for and average student. Almost 50% fail to clear the exam, from that 50%, 50% were expecting just to get passed without studying anything, 20% were busy in relationships, 20% were busy gaming, 10% left for later.

Night Life

5

The college has provided GYM facility which is available from Monday - Saturday, every morning from around 6 am to 8 am and rarely in the evening. There's a library facility too. There are 2 canteens where students hardly prefer to go due to low quality food. There are Hostel facilities too, for both the genders, but the size and facilities are very different from each other, boys hostel and girls hostel. They provide low facility for boys. Here, the locality is very safe in and around the college campus, even at night, just sometimes some wild animals like Elephant, Leopard, Wolf, Monkey appears at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was a major factor that influenced my decision to choose this course, as it is well-structured and offers a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. The syllabus covers essential concepts in a systematic manner, starting from the basics and gradually advancing to more complex topics. The inclusion of practical sessions, assignments, and project work made the course appear relevant and aligned with current academic and professional requirements. This thoughtful design assured me that the course would help in developing analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and subject clarity, which are important for both academic growth and career development.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Areas for improvement: more industry collaborations, guest lectures, and hands-on projects. Some subjects feel outdated and could be updated. Teaching methods could incorporate more interactive sessions and case studies. Exams are held semester-wise, with a mix of easy and challenging questions. Difficulty level is manageable with consistent effort. Frequency is okay, but sometimes feels rushed. Overall, the curriculum provides a solid foundation, but could benefit from more flexibility and modernization to better prepare students for the industry.
