Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose BTech in information technology because its a course which I thought will suit the best for my upcoming future. The curriculum prepares you well for the real world applications as you will learn not only about coding in these 4 years but also how to communicate in the corporate world or anywhere in the world and it will also teach you to become confident enough that you can do anything.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees you give at the time of admission is around 97500 for 1st sem then in 2nd sem you pay 95000 and from the 3rd sem you have to pay 87000 each semester. The total fees for 4 years is approx 7 lakhs and it has remained the same for last 2 years. There are also many scholarships available for you to avail like swami vivekanand scholarship and many more. In every scholarship program you will get about 40000-60000 if you're eligible. Eligibility for the scholarship program are usually that you should have scored atleast 75% in your 12th boards and your family annual income should be less than or equal to 2.5 lakhs per annum

Campus Life

5

In my college Techno International New Town you will have a lots of club you can participate in like there is coding club, photography club, literary club, environment club and many more. Each year there are many festivals which will organized by the college for example at the month of January February and March you will have your Literary fest, cultural fest, tech fest, and you will see atleast 7-9 fest overall in a year. The facilities in the classroom are very nice every classroom consists of a projecter and projecting screen and nice ventilation systems. There are many extra curricular activities to do in college like there will be many short events which you can participate in also in every 2-3 months the college organizes a sports event in which everyone can participate and let me tell you if you participate in this all fest and extra curricular activities and think that your attendance is going to hamper then you're wrong if you're participating in anything you will be given your full attendance of that days classes. Just you have to also keep studying so that it won't hamper your studies.

Admission

I applied to Techno main Salt Lake, B.P poddar and IEM college and I was selected in all of them but the courses I was getting in techno main Salt Lake based on my WBJEE rank was electrical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, etc. all backward branches which I don't want. In B.P poddar I was eligible for CSE and IT both but the campus of that college is not so good so I rejected it. In IEM I was getting the course ECE but the fees in IEM is too high it is around 1 lakh 5 thousand per semester and I can't afford that much. If I tell you about the campus and location of the college I think Techno International New Town is best amongst any other colleges I applied to you get a nice big campus with a basketball court also outside the campus it feels very calm and quiet type nature my college is just 2 min walking distance from biswa bangla which also looks great in the night and will give you the best vibes. The admission process in my college is very simple you can either get in with JEE mains marks WBJEE marks or you can get in with the help of management quota. The closing rank for Information Technology in my college in WBJEE 1st round last year was around 77000. Most students prefer to take admission via WBJEE because if you take admission through WBJEE rank there's a chance that you will get atleast any branch if you have high ranking but in JEE it's not always the same you might have to work a little hard. The overall admission process is very smooth the teachers and staff there will help you in case of any issues.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is also very good you won't feel a time when you need a mentor and there is no one to direct you. As I said the faculty members are very supportive and they are ready to help you with everything. My college Techno International New Town is affiliated under MAKAUT university so the procedure for the examination goes like this. First you will have 4 continuous assessment examination known as CA in CA1 you will have to make a ppt on a topic and will have present it to the class, in CA2 you will have to write a technical report on a topic and have to submit it, in CA3 it will be a written test conducted by your own college and the questions will not be that hard if you know the concept even a bit you can write the answers finally in CA4 it will be MCQ or written test which will be conducted by MAKAUT university. All these CA are of 30 marks in which 25 marks is your main thing like ppt technical report etc. and rest 5 marks are based on your attendance. After CA exams are finished you will have to appear for PCA also known as practical continuous assessment there will be 2 PCA for each lab class and PCA are of 40 marks which will be given to you based on your viva, your lab copy and attendance. After all this MAKAUT conducts a final theory exam of 70 marks which is also not so hard but still you will have to study just knowing the concept won't work here. And then your college conducts a practical exam in which you have to perform experiment and it is of 60 marks

Night Life

5

The nightlife around my college campus is awesome since New Town is a very much developing area you will see colourful lights everywhere on the road at night. Near my college about 2 min walking distance we have biswa bangla and very nice hotel which glows up in the night light you will find food trucks everywhere near you and also there are many cafe around.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
