Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose BCOM Applied Finance and Analytics because of the future prospects of this course and the specific line. In the growing world now, analytics plays an important role and provides a huge chance in the corporate world. This course builds a strong foundation in the fields of finance and analytics. This course also helps us to be financial or data analyst. The curriculam of the course is relavent in the society and difficulty increses sem by sem. The exams CIAs have a gap of 3 weeks or more. The difficulty level is medium and varies from subject to subject. It is diffucult to pass the supplementary exams also. There must me minimum 75% attendance to write the examinations.

Placement Experience

5

Christ Univeristy proivides a wide rage of companies for placements. The students get placements by the 6th semester. The big4 companies i.e. JP MORGAN,EY, DELOITTE, PwC along with other prominent companies like Goldmansachs, KPMG,Deutsche Bank,Accenture etc. Most of the students get placed with 6,00,000 per annum. About 60% of the students get placed in the top notch companies. I personally would like to be place in one of the Big4 companies and after 2 years of work experience I would take MBA from a prominent university.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for BCOM Applied Finance and Analytics is 1,75,000 for the 1st year and 1,60,000 each for the remaining year. For NRI studendts the fees ais 2,60,000 and the university also provides fee consession for students. The fees for BCOM Honours is 1,04,000.The fees for NRIs will be higher than the general category and there will be consessions for SC/ST categories. This college offers big4 companies for placements and also provides scholarship for the students.

Campus Life

5

My experience with Campus life, in terms of social aspects, club involvement , and infrastructure is marked by a well-rounded and enriching environment that encourages both academic excellence and personal growth. The main events that were held in the campus are Blossoms, Darpan, Magnificat, Nritta and so on. All the departments also conduct various fest inluding both inter and intra department events. Bhasha Utsav is one of the major highlight of this campus promoting the various cultural diversity and ethnic backgrounds from different parts of India. The library of Christ university is well stocked with Books, Journals, articles both in online and offline format. The classrooms are eqipped with smartboards. This university also provides computer lab and all other resoureces required for the courses. The sports club also initiate various events like CUBYCSPO, faculty matches and other interdepartment events. This university also provides a huge football turf, basketball court, beach-volleyball court, other indoor games etc. There are various clubs like Natyarpana, CUCA, CUBSMA, ACC, SWO,CSA,SDG,E-CELL, STUDENT COUNCIL ETC.These clubs mould the students to excel in the future.

Admission

I have applied to Kristu Jayanthi College , Symbiosis , St Xaviers and Christ University. I applied for BCOM Business Analytics in KJC, Bsc Economics in Symbiosis and BMS in St Xaviers. I got admission into all the colleges I applied except St Xaviers as the seats are less. I didnot want to do economics and comparing KJC with Christ always Christ University is better. In all the colleges they need 75% of marks in our 11th and 12th grades. Admission process for Christ Deemed to be University is to apply for the course we need through the website. Then we have to choose entrance test date and an interview slot. During the interview the students will have a skill assessment and a PI where the students are required to speak on a given topic for 3 minutes. They will also ask some academic questions and the results will be published within a week or two.The interviews difficulty and valuation differs according to the department and interviewers.

Faculty

5

The faculties in Yeshwantpur campus are very friendly and approchable. They are specialised in their fields and are highly qualified . There are many Faculties whom I like the most like Dr. Pranami Sharma, Dr. Rekha S, Dr. Priya Vinod, etc due to their friendly nature and quality of teaching. There are no such teachers which I dislike. The exams here are conduted in CIAs which means Continous Internal Assessments which is from CIA 1 to CIA 4. CIA1 is mostly presentations roleplay or mcqs. CIA 2 is the Mid sem examination out of 50marks. CIA 3 is also done by mcqs roleplay or presentations. CIA 4 is the End sem examinations out of 100 marks. 75% of the students pass in this examinations and the rest may write supplementary examinations. About 45% get First class with distinction and the rest in first class, second class etc.

Interview Experience

5

I have faced Interview, skill assessment and written test. The first step was an online based mcq test. After that we have to do the interview at the respective campus where we have skill assessment which is a sort of essay writing on the given topic and also we have micropresentation where we have to talk about the given topic for 3minutes. After we pass for all the rounds the selected students get a mail. The main criteria is academic background, interest in related field, knowledge, category. The students are required to have atleast 75% marks in there boards. I prepared for these interview by practicing the mock interviews and through reading.

Night Life

5

The timings are different for boys and girls. We have a lot of shops inside the cafeteria. One for nonveg, veg, juices, snacks, cakes etc. We also have wave cafe inside and outside the campus. Apart from these places we have many other hangout spots like KFC, DOMINOS , Baskin Robins ,Subway, Polar Bear etc. The hostel are for boys and girls. The curfew time is 9: 15 PM. Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
