Review for SRM chennai

Me personally wanted to get out of my hometown and get to a good college somewhere in south. After my research i found a lot of them but some where out of my budget and some had bad reviews after that a friend of my father suggested me for SRM chennai after which i got here.

Unfortunately since im just a first year i dont know a lot about internships. However im still learning and know that SRM has strong connections with various top global and Indian companies providing students with valuable internship placements around wide range of fields.

For placements inside campus we become eligible from 7th semester onwards. there is a minimum cgpa criteria which we are informed. Companies which reputation come for placement drives : Some of them are : Google Microsoft Amazon TCS INFOSYS wipro HCL Larsen and Toubro Samsung and many more. The highest salary package from what i know was 23 lakhs per annum and on an average a package of 3.5-5 LPA is offered to students.

The fee structure differs for various courses. I am a student of CSE core and i have a yearly tuition of around 4,00,000. Regarding other courses there are a lot of them which is offered by SRM it can be checked through their website where the exact details are given. Talking about scholarship, it is based on SRMJEE ranks and offers various fees concessions. In my CAMPUS that is KTR campus the scholarship table is as follows : 100 % - Ranks 41-115 75% * Ranks 116-215 50% - Ranks 216-340 25% Scholarship - Ranks 341-490

There are a lot of events at SRM. Krittika is the main cultural festival. It is one of the biggest events in the university. There are a lot of hackathons and tech fests too which are arranged with pomp and show The sports and gym facilities here are excellent. The college canteen food is my favourite and they arent overpriced too. Talking about clubs there are a lot of them which are difficult to list but when i say a lot of them there are a LOT of them.

I personally wanted to stay out of my hometown and carry on with btech in a good colllege. I looked up reviews of various colleges after which finally i was able to decide that i wanted to go to SRM chennai.

The faculty to student ratio varies from various departments but at our department it is 70:1 which is one professor for 70 students. While the faculty to student ratio seems a bit high but all of the faculty is friendly and approachable. They mentor us in such a professional way that everything goes on smoothly and we face no problems. I personally like professor yatsubeni because of her friendly and approachable nature. She is really professional in making us understand topics which are tricky. The course structure varies for various courses For our core subjects all the basics and algorithms are taught in first year followed by more specialized subjects from the second year. We are also provided a lot of project works to increase industry exposure. We have both our internal and sem exams. Assignment and presentations make up for our internal exams and the end sem exams make up for the rest . The difficulty is just as one would expect of university exams.

The night life at SRM is usually lively and safe. The campus looks beautiful at night and the gym cafe and library are also open during the night till 10 pm. The famous hangout places outside SRM is Marina Beach Phoenix market City. Also queensland amusement park is a great place to enjoy and hangout
