ALL YOU WANT TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY.

The course curriculum of Jadavpur University is very relevant and the professors are very skilled. The course curriculum is revised in every 4-5 Years. We have AI, system design and cloud computing in Information Technology branch. Some professors should improve their teaching styles rather than just reading PPT. slides. There are class tests after 2 months of starting the semester, then the end-of-semester exam.

Internship opportunities are decent.Less students get interships and you have to try off campus internships .Currently we have 2/3 months internship facilities. Major companies that come for internships are Google, Airbus, Wells Fargo, BNY Mellon, Amazon etc. Highest internship stipend goes like 1.5 lacs for 2 months.

Students can sit for On Campus Internships after the completion of 4th semester. They can sit for On Campus placements after the completion of 6th semester. All the major companies such as Google, Amazon ,IBM ,Salesforce visit the campus every Year.Amazon gave the highest number of offers 25 last year. For Information Technology 11 got Amazon and 3 got Google. Amazon gives 46.7 LPA and Google gives 57LPA to students of our college.

In Jadavpur University the fee structure for all departments for entire 4 years is 10k and for Information Technology it is 120K. There are scholarships like Swami Vivekananda Memorial Scholarship and also other benifits.For students with low family income the tuition fee is reduced by 50% to 100% as per family income.Students coming from distant places of West Bengal can apply for travel allownace.

The overall experience in campus is good. There is ILLUMINE. There is U-Turn an extracurricular and sports fest happens every year in January. Srijan is the technomanagement fest that happens every year in March. Sanskriti the Cultural fest happens every year in April. Besides this all departments have their freshers. There is an annual Sports of the University. Also the University helps with funds for National and state level players. There is spots quota for admission in the University. All the classrooms are provided with ACs and projectors and have enough space to accomodate students. There is a large collection of books in Central library and all departments have departmental libraries.There is IEEE Jadavpur University student Brach this club is very active and helds seminars, hacakthons etc.Sports infrastructure in decent.If You are in the Saltlake campus You will get more oppoetunities to play all sports as the students are less.

I also got admission to IIEST Shibpur through JEE Mains but rejected that after I got Jadavpur University.One have to give WBJEE Exam to get into Jadavpur University.You have to pass class 12 from a recognised board and should have aggregate of 45% .Then you have to go to West Bengal for Physical Verification after the result is declared.There are 2 rounds and 1 mop up round for admission.The overall experience is very good during my admission ,it went very smooth.There is no cut off in WBJEE but to get into Jadavpur University with any branch You have to get under 2500 rank.

The student to faculty ratio is decent.Some professors are very good like Mohammad Basir Ahmed Sir he is very good in teaching Engineering Mathematics.We have Class tests and Only End Semester exams(2 in a year).30% of the marks come from class tests and the rest 70% from semester exams.The exams are moderate if you study then it won't be difficult to get good marks.The course curriculum is very relevant and it is revised every 4-5 years.

As both the campuses of Jadavpur University is located in Metropolitan City the night life is awesome.You have South City mall near the Jadavpur Campus.You have Nicco park and Science City Close to saltlake Campus.There is gym , library and cafeterias inside the campus that are open till 7 pm.In Jadavpur Campus Jheel par is a great spot to spend time.Just gather a group of friends and spend the best time after the whole tiring day.
