Course Curriculum Overview

1

The course curriculum is not at all relevant to the recent job market , they barely make any change to the century old curriculum niether they add any new subject. As of now I have only completed my first year at this collage . The subjects here are only the same as was there in my class 11th and 12th just some extension to it and some new theorm and just went to depth of the concepts of senior secondary school. The only new course was the intro to C programming , which was not new to some of the ICSE board stuents. As of now there wasn't any course which prepare as for the real world applications , it was just theory . But I still think that the course of Basic Electronic Engineering was worth it , it is about the semiconductor and the project we do gave us hands on experince . The exams are very frequent , like there is a exams after like 7 days . Just started the session and then the quizzes pops up , and then pile of assingnment , and then mid-sem exam and med-sem practicle exam come from nowhere out of the blue. So they are very frequent like they will teach one lesson and there are lots of exams .

Internships Opportunities

1

The internship opportunities are very limited , not even the smartest students can get it . Very Very limited number of companies visit here . Not every company offer internship at our collage. Only the low grade companies come to this campus for the placement drive and handfull for internship. The name of the companies are TCS , Infosys , Tiger software , Wipro , Dell etc .

Placement Experience

1

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee is as follows 1st year - 86000 per sem 2nd year - 93000 per sem 3rd year - 100,000 per sem 4th year - 1,08,000 per sem Hostel and mess fee are not include , the hostel fee structure is as follows : 1st year- 10,000 per sem 2nd year - 12000 per sem 3rd year - 12000 per sem 4th year - 14000 per sem Mess fee is about Rs 1000 per week for now , this will change from next year.

Campus Life

1

The campus life here is not that good , far from the expectations that I had in my JEE days , sometime I regrate that I should have taken IITKGP over this useless collage. And sometime I think I should have taken BITs pilani it would be a lot better option . The annual tech and cultural is just both the same (they don't have the money to conduct seprate fest for tech and culture) . The fest is not that good not many famous artist visit here .Neither there is anything technical in the tech fest. The library is very small and have only limited number of books There is no thing as the technolog in the class , there is only chok and black board , even my school classroom was better than this room . There is a very limited scope for sports and it would not be wrong to say that they have no scope for the sports .

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostels are decent , the rooms are triple sharing or tetra sharing . you get one bed , one table and one almira. and every floor have comman bathroom and washroom. Some of the buildings have poor vantilation ,so in summers it is like the boiling pan. The hostels are Affordable the hostel fee is Rs10,000 per sem which is I think is not much . The hostels are near to the class room or the academic building , obviously the campus is very small. Hostel is mandatory for all the students even for the loacl students who live in the city.

Admission

This was the best collage that I was getting based on my JEE rank . I was also getting lower NITs like NIT shrinage , goa etc . But my father denied and he thought that a better branch will give a better palacement at the end of the 4 years .I also got into BITs pilani Electrical Engineering , but I have to put down that idea because of the high fee at the BITs . so this was the last option . I was also getting Geoscience at IITKGP.

Faculty

1

The faclty to the student ratio is bad as far as think its about 50:1. As I have alredy told you that the faculties are not that much qualified and they don't even hold a Phd degree , mostly they are the Mtech students . The faculties are very rarely encouraged to intract with the students , they want to go to there cabin as soon as there class is over. In my entire year at this collage almost no faculty talk to the student after the class. there might be some exception for few students. The faclty do not use any moder techniques like smart boad , projector , videos , live demonstrations , no any online class if there is any issue . They mostly rely on the chok and black board. So the classes are really boaring , most of the students study from youtube , udemy , courserea etc . You can never relay on faculty . The exams are like this , quizzes , lab-test , assignments , mid-sem and end-sem for each and every subject or course per sem which is like almost one test a week .The difficulty level of the exam are very random , sometime they are very tough and sometime just easy pize.It mostly depend on the prof who is conducting the paper and making it . some faculties also consider the attendence while checking . One bad thing about this collage is that they jugde by the amount of the classes you attend.

Night Life

1

There is no night life . Because the campus is outside of the city , it is being surrounded by the dense forests . and The place is not very safe. So you are not allowed to go out of the campus after 9.30pm and neither you can roam around the small campus. After 9.30 you can't go out of your hostel . Even if you want to recive any food delivery . so there is no night life at all . You just have to be alone in your hostle room . The gym is not at all well equipped at all . there are no any machinary . And some of the old cycles have started to rust .

The placement opportunities at KIIT are quite good, especially for us the CSE students. The eligibility criteria for campus placements starts from 7th semester. Many well-known companies visit the university every year like TATA Consultancy Services , Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini. The average package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and highest package offered around per yr avg is 50-60 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placements is around 90% plus in average per yr. After completing my degree, i plan to work in software industry and gain more experience in the field of technology

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
