All about my college

The best thing i found in this college is that it has a friendly environment. Ragging here is strictly prohibited and everyone in the college adhere to it. Coming to some negatives is that the infrastructure of the college is not well developed. As it has been in chandigarh since 1953 only a few buildings are well developed rest all the buildings are as old as the college.

The institute has a very good and a proper course curriculum helpful for us in each and every field. Exams are divided into two parts mid-semster which take place when half of the semester is finished which comprises of half of the syllabus completed till then in that semester and end semesters which include all the syllabus covered in that semester. Along with this monthly quizzes are also held which also holds a weightage in the final totalling of marks.

Since it is a prestigious college, most of the students of pec gets placed but not everyone. you must have a good cgpa. Yes our college provides with the internships also and it is provided in the 6th semester, offers for which comes to the students in the 5th semster. Here also the more your then cgpa the better the intern you get. No i have not done any internship since i'm in 3rd semester only

Cultural fest with the name of PECFEST is the major event of the college and is one of the most famous fest in the north india. It is celebrated in the last week of September and continues for three days. Other events include sports meet which is also celebrated every year.

It may depend from person to person. The annual fee structure for 2018-19 batch was ?1.2 lakhs but it changes every year with a hike of ?8000-?10,000 along with this hostel fee is about ?65000 per annum with a hike of ?5000 every year.

All the branch openers that is the student with the highest rank scored in each branch gets full tuition fee wavier, All physically challenged students also get full fee wavier, All students belonging to SC/ST category gets full fee wavier, and few students whose family income is less than ?2,50,000/year also get full fee wavier. These few are selected on the basis of JEE-MAINS rank.

As i have said earlier sports meet takes place every year helping the students of our college to out perform in different sports. Talking about extracurricular activities different clubs and societies are being maintained in the college to help the students enhance their other skills like dramatics club, music club, art and photography club, society of civil engineers, American society of mechanical engineers and lot more. Different labs are also available for the research departments also workshops are available to give practical knowledge to the students.

the college has four hostels fir boys and two hostels for girls. Or of for hostels for boys only one hostel named Shivalik has a good infrastructure rest all the three hostels are out dated their condition is extremely poor. Talking about the girls hostels as i have heard they are good in condition.

There is a strong alumni network every year alumni meet is organised to get in touch with the alumnis of the college as well as the senior students of the college. Yes they are very helpful as they took out time from their busy schedule and get together to help the institute improve.

We need to clear the entrance exam of JEE-MAINS. Only a good rank in this national level exam will get you an admission in this college. My rank was 25k approximately, which helped me to clear the required rank to get admission in this college.

The college has a very experienced set of professors who provides us with seamless ocean of knowledge to us. They are very kind and helpful in nature and are also strict towards some non serious students.
