Course Curriculum Overview

5

There are a lot of aspects which made me choose this course, out of which the most apt one is the relevance of this course. I think that our clg is teaching what is required in the market which can come in handy when we graduate. I am currently in my first year and im going to second year in august. My seniors did multiple internships at multiple companies whihc I think is enough proof for industry relevance. The curriculum is designed very well and I don't find any problems in teaching methods. We usually have exams every 1-2 months. Every sem is split into 2 terms and each term has a mid term and an end term exam. Personally I feel that the diff level is mid to high.

Internships Opportunities

5

I've mentioned about the internship opportunities in the previous sections, but I would like to add that you would also have to work hard to get one. A lot of companies get onboard to hire students, they test their skills through interviews. Companies like dukaan, motion education and other startups come to hire students. Stipend is 30k on an average.

Placement Experience

5

First of all, there isn't a passed out batch yet(as of 2025). The first batch enrolled in 2023 and they are currently in internship period as they've planned. Placement will be offered at the end of 4th year. Although for internships, around 50+ companies visited and 96% of students got internships. The average stipend was 30,000 INR and the highest stipend was 200,000 INR (non-domestic). My plans after getting the degree are to gain some experience and go for a masters in business if possible.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees our batch is supposed to pay is around 22 Lakh INR (in total) and the yearly fee varies around 4-5 lakh. No reservations in case of fees and the fees does increase every few years due to inflation adjustment. All of my batchmates do pay the same fee. There are scholarships based on merit for select people, most of the times it is 20% but for exceptional cases it could go upto 50.

Campus Life

5

campus life is something which some students complain about but i find it to be pretty good. there will be multiple events/activities going in any week you consider and there a lot of cultural/academic clubs which you can be a member of. Clubs usually organise their own events thanks to the talented club heads. There is currently an annual event called rise up coming up on june 30. And the annual fest is probably going to happen in september called "Yugaantar". The library has a lot of books and most of them are focused on computer science like head first python, intro to machine learning and a lot of things which you might find helpful. The facilities and technological provisions are also up to mark, Teachers teach while sharing their screen on an app called Drona which they developed themselves, Projectors and TVs are also included. Coming to sports, we had multiple events conducted. We had our own cricket tournament called SPL. In conclusion, I would say that the campus life offers a lot of opportunities and activities you could explore.

Hostel Facilities

4

The micro campus is actually owned by a PG firm called Uniworld but scaler maintains it, each student can choose between a triple sharing or a double sharing room. I thnk the meal quality is a little bit sub-par but you could eat outside anytime because many restaurants/cafes are very nearby. The hostel fees is included in the college fees, and the registration process is not so complex. The facilities are as promised.

Admission

I chose this college due to the fact that this college can give me a better grip in facing the current job market. Given the conditions outside, I didn't want to go through a conventional college degree which is just textbook knowledge anyway. I'm actually someone who is interested in fintech and business and I had given the IPMAT after my 12th. I had a decent rank but couldn't get in due to some unforeseen problems while applying for it. I was passionate about business but I couldn't get into IIMs' 5 year course so I thought CS + MBA would be a good idea so I applied for this. Talking about the admission process, you have to give an online test followed by 1-2 rounds of PI to get accepted. After you get accepted, you will get an offer letter which you have to show when confirming the admission.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio might seem less from an outsider's perspective but it doesn't hinder the students. We have dedicated Batch Success Managers and TAs who help out the students when needed. My personal favourite is the web dev faculty Mrinal Bhattacharya, he is very experienced and has a very practical approach. He is very friendly with the students. There aren't any faculties that I don't like but I do think Yogesh Kumar sir who teaches Operating Systems could improve on his teaching. There will be 8 exams in an academic year, if you are new to CS you might find them difficult. Most of the times it depends on the subject but since I had no prior experience in CS I would say they are medium-difficult. Most students do clear the exams and even if they don't they can give the re-exams. The course curriculum is very relevant in today's tech standards and I highly recommend it.

Interview Experience

5

Did not face any group discussion but I had to go through an interview. I gave two rounds of PI, and in both rounds I was tested on aptitude and math. They usually ask what your aspirations are after the technical round. I thnk the best method of preparation for the PI is to brush up your fundamentals you dont need anything fancy. Before the PI there is a test you need to pass you need strong math skills and aptitude to pass the test. I prepared high school math and went through a quantitative aptitude for cat book to prepare that was plenty. The interviewers were friendly and very straightforward, although I think the interviews for our junior batches would be taken by AI.

Night Life

5

There are 2 campuses one is the macro campus which is the actual clg where classes happen and the micro campus which is the hostel and it also has a specific floor where sometimes workshops and fun happens. A lot of students do stay up till 2 in the night. There isnt a gym in the micro but you get a free 4 year cult pass which you can use at any gym. Cafeteria is in the floor below the ground floor in the campus which has good food, you can visit/sit in the public areas anytime inside the campus hours. The campus usually starts at 8 Am but we have our classes at 10 am normally. it closes at night but we usually leave around 4-5. You have to be in the hostel by 10 30 no exceptions. There aren't any specific famous places outside the college but there are a lot of food chains around the hostel. The college is surrounded by tech company offices.

Other Applied Colleges

PES University - [PESU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I felt that Scaler School of Technology offers a better curriculum and equips students with better tools for the future.

From final year the students can apply for the placements. At least 60% should be there to be eligible for the placement. Many companies provides placements in this college like infosys, Accenture, Mahindra and many more. The average package as per the company is 200000 per annum and the highest package is 700000 per annum. My plans after getting the degree is to go to abroad for my post graduate.

Placement Experience:

Usually there are placements in our college. If any student does not get a placement the faculty guide us what we can do next like the companies in which we can apply and how we can go further. In my course after finishing the bachelors degree you can further study masters it is available in our college itself or yoj can aplly for companies but if you do your masters you have a better opportunity and high posts for you better career. The course is of 8 semester you become eligible for campus placements in 7th semester. The last year that is seventh and eighth semester is basically practical and lot of projects provided. There various companies are seniors have applied and offered for example the genetic company in Bangalore that is Med gen. The highest package offered is 50000 and the average starts from 25000 placements in college. There is 75 percentage of students getting placements from our college. My plans after getting the degree is to go for further studies and do the masters after that i would like to do job along with my phd, this is my plan after getting my bachelors degree.

Most of the students after completing four years, continue to stay here to get Masters degree after one more year and pursue PhD from world renowned institutions. Very few people (<7/100) per batch will sit for campus placements and most of them will be selected with a good annual package of 30000 at an average. Some students, mostly Physocs majors can give government exams like ICRB, GATE to join ISRO and BARC as scientists

Qualification is good and the teaching method like some lectures is good. Term exams will be after 6 months from starting of sem and it's not as difficult as pu or 10th exams we can easily pass them.
