Likes
- Among all the technical branches of the college, we are the least crowded one.
- Dur to less crowd we get far more attention than the CSE branch students or for that matter AI&DS students.
- Course is tough as we have an extra subject every semester.
Dislikes
- Boys hostels in on campus whole girls hostels are off campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted CSE but the cut-off was slightly over what I had and therefore I took IT branch. Most subjects and labs are common though but still CSE is CSE. Still no complaints about our course as most of our labs and practicals were together.
Placement Experience
IT companies are the ones where techies are required and therefore we are inked by tech companies like Wipro, Microsoft, Tech Mahindra and many more. Highest package so far for IT engineers from our college is of 20 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
DR. NGPIT has many branches and IT branches like the AI&DS, IT and CSE has the same fees and that is 1.2 lakhs a year for college. The hostel fees is 1,05,000 and it stays constant as it has been all four years and this is my last year.
Campus Life
Our college has 2 colleges in one campus and both of them are amazing as even the arts & science college has good strength and has their two blocks while 2 blocks are for engineering college, one is admin block and 3 boys hostels. So these many are the buildings in our campus but besides that there's a library, 5 seminar halls and outdoor sports ground and indoor sports facilities as well.
Hostel Facilities
Girls hostel are at a 300 metres distant from our college as hostel campus is different. Meals are good and even the study room is spacious. A small room with one more room mate is there and washrooms are shared.
Admission
I wanted SRM but there too i didn't got CSE and therefore I took admission in this branch. It is all but confirmed that at best I could get IT branch in the choice of colleges that I had. Then came the fees aspect and in that DR. NGPIT was best by far and therefore I took admission here.
Faculty
At our college IT students total strength is 130 and around 15-16 faculties is what who have taught us. Beyond that some guest faculties and contracted faculties too have been a part of our teaching. So overall we have taken classes under 25+ faculties and this year we might interact with some new faculties too.
Night Life
Three cafeterias are there inside the campus and so are hostels but they have an intime of 7.30 pm. Yes we are allowed outpass once or twice in a week and that is allowed till 9 pm. Prozone Mall, the yellow hut and football and cricket turfs are just outside our college.
