Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because i want to be a techie with all necessary computer knowledge and this is the only course that offers a vide variety in computer applications like java,C, and Dbms etc. And it really helped me dealing with real worls applications like in internship and in getting a good job. The areas in which course curriculum can be improved is that in colleges they still teach C language which is nowadays outdated they should advance their curriculum by adding new subjects like c#, python and teaching methods should be improved by Putting AV's in classrooms for better interaction with real worls applications. The exams held in every 6 months and the timing for the exams is 3 hours which is good and the difficulty level is quite moderate.

Internships Opportunities

5

In 2022 when i opted thius college there was only one company apex hire that provides internships to students with no stipends. and the project was to build websites and apps using python, html and css. And otcome of this internship was really very good that my college choose me to build my college site.

Placement Experience

4

Placement percentage in our college is 75% and students become eligble to apply for companies from 6th semester. And the companies that visited our cmpus is TCS.Accenture, Capegemini, Innova Solutions, and all the companies made offers there is no company that made no offer. The hioghest package offered was 3.25LPA and the average was 1.9 LPA the highest package was offered by capegemini for the analyst position and the average was offered by tcs for junior trainee position. and my plans after getting a degree is to carry on with the job and in all the top three companies listed above, i had cleared all of them and later on i switched my mood to Pursue MCA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total duration of course was three year and with the annual fee of Rs 50000 making it to Rs 150000 for 3 year with a one time admission fees of Rs 500. And unlike other colleges my college does not increases the fees every year. And I also received a scholarship of Rs 14000, which was a big help from indian government. And the best thing that I liked the most is that the fee structure is same for all.

Campus Life

4

In my college there were two annual fest that held every year is tech fiesta in which shudents show their innovation and one is Sports day. And in my college library there were a variety of books to go through with respect all fields, and there was a library card made to all students through which they can have access to those books and the librarian use to maintain journals for that books issued. The facilities and the technological provisions were good in the class rooms as the classrooms are AV's installed. And in my college there were a lot of sports activities and extracurricular activities like racing, dancing, singing is also performed for annual day celebration and these activities were also pisted there in our college groups and site and as well as in student clubs which are privately held by students. And these groups have a good impact in stidents life with reference to studies and growth.

Admission

First i went to 2 to 3 colleges in kanpur that are PSIT, AXIS college, KIT and then my college which is Dr. Virendra Swarup Institute of Computer Studies the reason to visit these colleges it to compare the fees structure and and all other things like palcement support, library and all other factors. And when i compared the fee structure of my college with the other colleges it was less as compared to others my college fees was 150000 for 3 years and rest are like 200000, 250000 and 300000. and in my college first we have to clear the kanpur university paper then we can take admission and the cutoff for this paper is 60% and your overall academic percentage should not be less than 50%. I did not received any rejection from any colleges i rejected the colleges because of lack of amenities and outdated curriculum and when i comapred my college with others it has all updated curriculam with good labs and libraries which was not good there in other colleges i visited.

Faculty

4

My course is a 3 year program in which it has 6 semesters. And each year we had 2 semester and 2 presemester exams(college exams) that were honestly tougher than the semester exams of university, but for these university papers our teachers frequently and randomly take tests to prepped us well. And the exams were fair with practicals and all with relevant course curriculum. The failed percentage of students was less in my class but some of them fail beacuse they were not regular in the class and the passing percentage was just 40% and student is to faculty ratio is 1:75 which is for every 75 students there is one teacher. The faculty that i liked the most is Mr. Vivek Nigam sir, he is a Discrete Mathematics teacher because he teaches in such a way that no one can forgot, and the faculty that i did not like is my business economics teacher because she was demoralizes me by saying that you cant do anything. And the failed percentage of students in my class is about 4 percent.

Interview Experience

4

There were no GD's, interview for admission there is only one paper which is kanpur university paper after clearing this paper you are eligible for admission, the only criteria for admission is that throughoutmyour academics you shuld have 50% marks and 60% in kanpur university paper. And i prepared for this paper by continuously practicing ,athematics, reasoning and general knowledge.

Night Life

5

My nightout life was wonderful, there were a lot hangouts in night to our cafeterias and to the chai stall outside our college. There were no gym in my hostel but outside the college there were 2 to 3 gyms that are really good to go. And in and out timings of our hostel was quite hectic because it was 9pm and for girls it was 8 pm. and the places that i mostlty go for hangouts is Tea Amo, South X mall and a chai stall which is 1 km away from my college and till the radius of 50 km locality is safe for girls and boys.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT) are decent but not exceptional. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onwards. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys visit the campus, along with some startups, and offer roles mainly in IT support, development, and trainee positions. The highest package offered is around 8–10 LPA, while the average package ranges between 4–5 LPA, and the lowest is around 2–3 LPA. Approximately 60–70% of students get placed, while others either go for higher studies or off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the BCA program because of my interest in software development and web technologies. The curriculum’s focus on core subjects like Java, C++, and Database Management Systems (DBMS) was a major deciding factor, as these are the building blocks for a career in IT. ?The syllabus could be updated more frequently to include emerging technologies like Cloud Computing or AI/ML as core subjects rather than electives. Moving away from traditional rote learning toward more project-based learning would be beneficial. More frequent industry guest lectures would also bridge the gap between academia and corporate life The exam will be I would rate the difficulty as moderate. If you stay consistent with your lab work and internal assignments, the end-semester exams are quite manageable. The technical papers (like Mathematics or Architecture) tend to be the most challenging.

Placement Experience:

Around 70–80% of students from the course get placed through campus recruitment drives every year. The average package ranges between 3–5 LPA, while the highest package can go up to 8–10 LPA depending on skills and performance. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, and other reputed firms. A good number of students also secure internships in companies related to their field, which helps in gaining practical exposure and industry experience. The common roles offered include software developer, data analyst, trainee engineer, and support roles, providing a solid start to students’ careers.

Placement in my college are very very average. I say below average because the placement average package of average 500 students was around 4 lakhs. And there are more than 10,000 students in my college. So the placement is very low. And the highest package for BCA, was around 10,00,000 and engineering around 20,00,000. An MBA was also around 13 to 14 lakhs. So the placement is very bad in my college.
