The best thing in this college is the coding community of this college, which is very active. It gives a good environment for learning programming.It gives non-core(CSE,IT,ECE) students so much advantage in their future. In the field of programming this college gives strong competition to many IIT & NITs.

The course curriculum is totally based on syllabus provided by AICTE and being an autonomous college they provide topic in the syllabus which is required for field work and job purpose. Exam structure is the same as another college 8 semesters in 4 years. Each in the month of December and May. Two internals for each subject in between semesters.

Placement has increased from the 2017 and in the year 2019 over 80% of the students of this college has been hired by the . The Placement statistics are provided below. The students from the batch of 2017 were hired by around 17 companies includes service based companies like , IBM, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini and Accenture. Product based companies includes Kreeti Technologies, Fusion Charts, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Amazon Development Centre. There were significantly good placement on the year 2017 for core department where students were hired by Sapoorji Pallonji, Jacobs India, Cummins, Coca Cola and Essar Power. Students for the batch of 2018 were hired by 16 companies which includes Service based companies like TCS, Cognizant. The product based companies that hired students from the year 2018 includes Robert Bosch, Cogoport, HDFC limited, Veda IIT, Qualcomm Inc. and Texas Instruments. This year the placement for the Core departments increased as Students were hired by Sapoorji Pallonji, Tega Industries, Hi tech Engineering, Value Prospects, Jacobs India, and Simplex Infrastructures. The Placement kept on increasing and the college saw its best placement statistics in the year 2019 where over 80% of the students were offered jobs by 18 companies. This includes service based companies like Cognizant, TCS, RK infosys, HPL, Infosys, Scope telecom, IBM, Trident and Wipro. Product based companies includes Robert Bosch, Geeks for Geeks, Abzooba, Byjus and Sanmar. The Placement in the core department also increased and the highest package of 13 LPA was offered from the Department of Electrical Engineering. The Mechanical Engineering Department also had a good placement where the highest package was 10 LPA. Core department Students were placed in MN dastoor, ETS infra, Asahi Glass and Ashiana Housing. The placement for the year 2020 have already started and companies like Infosys, TCS, Zenus Group, Geeks for Geeks, Pie Telecom and Scope Telecom have already hired students from this college. The placement stats for the 2020 batch consists of the stats till August 2019. No college does not provide any internship.

Freshers Sristi (Tech fest)- It is the largest tech-management fest in north bengal.It is a 4 days long tech-management fest. Jeclet (Cultural fest)- It is the largest cultural fest in north bengal. It is a 7 days long cultural fest. Vishwakarma puja Swaraswati puja

As it's a govt. college, so the college fees are not so expensive. The figure is affordable. For ECE, CSE students the fees are INR 7510/- , for CE, ME, EE students the fees are INR 5510/- and for IT students INR 12000/-.

College provide half fee and full fee fasility(scholarship) for poor students.Half fee means college will pay half semester fee and full fee means college will pay full semester fee.College has many other scholarships from alumni association.

Yes college have so many clubs like sports club, dance club, drama club, roteract club, CFI(center for innovation) club, Coders club. Students can join the clubs according to their choice. College also has a night school JOYTI for students from class 1 to 12.This school is for those students who can't afford tuitions. Here students of our college teach them.

Hostel rate is Rs. 12000 per sem for 1st year and Rs. 13000 per sem for rest of the years and in case of ladies hostel, hostel rate is Rs. 10000 per sem. All the hostel have internet fasilities. Hostels are quite clean(except 2nd year hostel). Quality of is also very good (except 2nd year hostel). Water filters are present in all the hostels. Overall hostel fasilities are very good.

The Alumni Association works closely with the institution to involve ex-students and present students through various activities. JGEC has a number of alumni chapters around the globe. The JGEC Alumni Association provides opportunities to: Promote JGEC pride and tradition at campus and across the globe.Alumni network is very active and they are very helpful in case of recommendation in off-campus jobs. Alumni association gives funds in every events of the college.

Individuals need to appear for the WBJEE exam. For the admission you need to check past years counselling procedures for he best idea. And no such special requirements needed in the admission process. yeah, fees are much cheaper. you need to pay around 50k for the core depts( ME, CE, EE) in your 4 years of study and for CSE, ECE and IT depts fees are much more.

The teachers are extremely good and intelligent given their bright academic background. Most of them are from IITs or NITs. Some of them have IEEE affiliations and most of them are Ph.D. holders while others are currently pursuing their PhDs along with their teaching. They are always helpful and also take extra classes for hard topics in the course. They are capable of making every subject joyous and take out the common tiredness of the students by taking great classes.
