Course Curriculum Overview
The placement opportunities are what influenced me to take up this course as it provides me with critical thinking and analytical skills. Not aware about the exams but the course could be made more practical.
Internships Opportunities
Mostly Consultancty, HR and Finance related opportunities and projects are available as they are in the highest demand. Political consultancy is also gaining popularity. Again, since I'm new here, I'm yet to discover all this. I'll rate the opportunities as 3 with respect to what I'm aware of.
Placement Experience
The highest placement from MH in 2024 was 24LPA and the average package was 8LPA. For maths 6 students were placed. If no campus placement is offered, doing masters in econ or stats and building your resume would help
Fees and Financial Aid
The college fee is paid year-wise. Being a first year math student I paid ?18,600 for the first year. The fee varies according to course and the years we study. There are also various scholarships and financial aid schemes provided to students with weaker economic resources and low income levels
Campus Life
The Annual fest is the TEMPEST. Otherr social activities are also hosted lile competitions, performances, speeches, etc. The student run societies are active as well. Since the college has just started I'm not aware how much they participate.
Admission
I applied for IPU as a backup but aimed for DU only. My higjer preferences were St Stephen's and Hindu which I wasn't able to clear the cut off for. To get into Miranda, the process is simple: 1) give CUET 2) Register for DU 3 there are three phases: application, preference selection and allocation.
Faculty
The faculty is very approachable and cooperative. The staff is calm and focused. Every faculty member is great, no complaints. The exams haven't started yet so I'm not aware about the difficulty levels but there are 7 papers; 3 discipline, 1 general elective, 1 sec, 1 aec and 1 vac. The curriculum is relevant and you can make your GE your minor subject if you study it for another year
Night Life
My college is in North Delhi and I live in West Delhi so I travel by metro daily. But hope to see how Miranda looks at night time! The library has 3 floors and is one of the best libraries of DU. The food from all 4 cafeterias is yum! The safest and best places to visit nearby are Kamla Nagar or Hudson Lane.
