Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose B.com Hons beacuse of the vast subject like Business, Economics, Accountancy and you can get practical exposure of it as we learned MS excel, tally and computer softwares so its very interesting subject. Some part of it is theoretical but most of it is case based, computer system and practical knowledge. It also helps the students to prepare for the professional exams like CA, CFA, CS and MBA. I feel some teachers made these subject boring like teaching the practical components as theoretical. So need to improve the teaching method. Instead of just academics only college should provide internship opportunities to the studentd to get practical knowledge of these subject in real life applications.

Internships Opportunities

3

Placement cell has its own whatsapp group where they provide different internship opportunities. The on campus recruitment or internship fair is also organised by Placement Cell and the college are pretty well known like Deloitte or Accenture. Last year i have applied for an work from office internship i got selected and they even paid me 3k. Also there is Research internship opportunity available with the professors if you are passionate about research for that the college launch application form and select students on the merit basis.

Placement Experience

4

In SVC students become eligible for placement from the start of 3rd year. Recruiters like Deloitte, KPMG, Genpact etc. Companies comes to SVC and select students on the basis of their selection process. Generally applications round, group discussions and interview happen. The avergae placement package of our college is 5 LPA and till now the hightest is 15 LPA. Some students go for placements but some go for CA or MBA or any professional course. My plans after getting my degree is getting into Banking sector as i am preparing for Grade B exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is kind of same in all category of candidates except pwd candidates. For B.com(H) the fee structure is 23k. It keeps on increasing by 1k or 2k depends on the course of candidates every year. There is no such specific division of fee(every thing is including in the yearly fee) but the candidate has to pay exam fee (1.5k) semester wise. There is also scholarship under NSP which you can apply via college and can get freeship also after the verification of documents. The meritorious students can get scholarships totally depends on academic performamce.

Campus Life

5

Campus life at Venky is a mixture of real life experiences and adventures. The peoole here are from differnet backgrounds which makes it even more diverse and alive. NEXUS is ths annual fest which is the most famous fest among delhi university. Last year the famous singer Javed Ali has srt the stage on fire and even the crowd is huge that people are watching over the metro bridge. There are dufferneg societies which anyone can join by filling their recruitment forms. If you are someone who is very shy and introvert and want to improve then these societies is for you. Beyond the academic its only the place for me where i feel great and myself. Everyone is very friendly and makes you feel at home. There is also library in our college and is pretty big very resourceful and if you are someone who is preparing for any professional exam then its the place for you. Delhi university provides ECA admission if you someone who is passionate about sports and in venky if you heard of Risabh pant he is from venky only. We have different sports and huge ground and badminton and tennis court.

Admission

I choose SVC over other colleges as getting into Delhi University is itself is very difficult. Over lakhs of students apply but only a few of them get selected as DU provides the exposure and real life experience over any other private university. I live in PG and my college is just a few minutes away from it like just 5 mins so i save the travel expenses as well. I didn't get any rejection from any college. DU is my only focus and i knew that i will make to DU but i have applied the my state university as my back. I got venky in my 1st allotment and its a very high raking college so knew that its the only college for me. I didn't go for upgrade because i got very bad feedback for Ramjas college so i decided to stay in SVC only. Eligibility: 12th pass with good CUET score(700+) for B com students CUET is the only exams that Delhi University accepts. So scoring above 650+ is enough to get into DU. The process of admission is very tome consuming as first you have to fill the CUET form and then register into CSAS portal which is the gateway to get into DU and after the aplliaction you will get your 1st allotment with a month. So no worry just focus on your studies, no one. An stop you from getting into your dream university.

Faculty

3

The college faculty is really vast and have associate and assistant professors. If i talk about the ratio then 3:5. Some teachers are really nice amd approaching but some are very rude and really don't care about the student. There is no specific department which i feel has really great faculty but its just fix of every department, teachers help student ro get research internship or if you have great or good connection with teachers they may give you full marks in internals. The EVS delartment is the worst dep of the college as they treat students like labour i mean 30+ practical and even if you complete all of them they treat you really bad. There is 2 exams semester wise one in December and other in May/June. The exams are based on the previous year question paper so its easy. Only a few studnets got ER(fail) but you can give the exam in the next year so no need to worry!

Interview Experience

5

No there is no such interview or GD round for the admission process. Just take CUET exam and fill the application form on CSAS portal and the 1st allotment list will release in within one month. 650+ score is enough to get into DU.

Night Life

3

College usually close at 6 pm around and then no entry is permitted except during fest time. Only hosteler are allowed to roam around camous at night time like playing basketball or studying at library. Hostel closes at around 10 and if you want to go out of campus then usual time is 8pm you have to get into campus before 8pm. I favourite spot is canteen of our college, its huge and even the food is tasty and affordable. Satya niketan is the palce which is kinda place if you looking for PG, there is only students who live here so living here is safe (well delhi is not that safe). You can roam around till 9 pm but after that i don't think its safe for girls.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
