LIFE AT NITK

As a nitk student I'd rate the cirriculum around 4 to 4.5 in terms of relevance and compressiveness.it covers the fundamentals topics very well,and depending on the department. The reason i chose NITK was: Strong core foundation:NITK is known for its academic rigor and well-established programs.Subject like Computer networks,OS,Control systems in eee are taught in depth. Course structure:In the first years we will cover core engineernig subjects which gives a solid technical base. Research opportunities: NITK has research labs and faculty involved in good research, especially in ece,cse,eee,chemical etc. The curriculum is decent at preparing students for further academic pursuits like GATE,GRE or MSc/M.TECH. For industry readiness,especially in fields like software,electronic, or dat science students often have to go beyond the cirriculum.Most real-world tools.libraries, and practcial skill will be taught here.

as i'm a first year student i still no nothing about the internships details but i will be excited to share my experience once i get into. Bru what i had from our seniors was that companies like texas instruments, siemens, give a stipend of 30000Rs on an average for 3 months internship.

Placements at NITK Surathkal are very good overall, and the EEE department consistently sees a high percentage of students getting placed-85% to 90%+ However the placement profiles and salaries vary a lot depending on whether you go core electrical jobs , software/IT jobs we students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester companies start arriving fro pre placement talks and tests ,some students also get PPOs done in the 3rd year summer internshis companies visiting nitk for eee students are: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIEMENS ABB L&T TATA POWER BOSCH. My personal plans after getting degree is either get placed in a good company then later prepare for civils services examination.

for the first year i will be paying Rs.130210 including hostel and mess fee and other extra fees as i belong to st category i dont have tution fees for the 2nd year i will be paying Rs.110320 for 3rd year i will be paying Rs.100840 and finally for the 4th final year i will be paying Rs.99430 . It has been mention that the fees might be increased by a 5% every year for my batch mates they have additionally Rs.125000 per year as a tution fee. I didnt get any kind of scholarship till now

we have many fests like incident , incubate, flashmob, engineer, all kinds of festivals celebrations etc. all these are held at a national level .we have two libraries one is the old and big building with thousands of book collection and the other one is a newly built e-library. NITK has an excellent sports infrastucture: foot ball ground atheletic track,cricket groud with nets,swimming pool,basket ball court,volleyball cout etc.

When we enter the hostel we'll be provide with bed(cart), table, wardrobe, chair, drawer, lights&fans. The food quality is very good and a decent amount of quantity is also served. all the registration process for hostel allocation and mess allocation takes place in the CIDS block at the time of reporting and we will get in the IRIS platform made by the nitk students for the college and students

I had applied for other IITs & NITs with different branches like IIT GUWAHATI and IIT BHU ,IIT ROORKEE,NIT TRICHY as i wasn't able to clear the cutoff according to their requirements i got NITK SURATHKAL which was the best that i got i choosed the other colleges because of their higher placement records more average salary packages and the most OG thing is that i wanted the IITian tag but i had also got a seat allocated in IIT BHU in metallurgy but i didnt wanted to take it and finally i chose NITK SURAATHKAL because it near to my hometown Banglore and the weather is very good there it has a privatre beach along with a light house many places to visit around NITK SURATHKAL mainly a very big campus of aroung 300 acres and multiple number of sports opportunities it has 2 gym . I got admitted to NITK SURATHKAL through jee mains that's only way they give you the admission in this prestigious college.

the faculty to student ratio at nitk varies by department , but generally its around 1:15 or 1:20 in core branches like cse,ece or eee. Some professors are very friendly,approachable,and supportive-willing to help outside class hours,suspervise proejcts or even guide us I like all the teaching teaching staff and every one is super talented every subject teacher teach us very well So in 1 semester we'll be having 2 quizes before the mid sem and end sem exams .

central gym(main building area): timings:6AM-9AM and 5PM-9PM. seperate slots for girls and boys well equipped with cardio,strength,and weight training machines. some hostels like block 10 and 11 have mini gyms fod court timing are 8AM-10 PM
