Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course has one of the best curriculum design, in my view. In first year, we get to know about basic engineering stuffs and all like Physics, engg graphics, electronics, maths, etc. But after that, we enter into our core subjects where we learn course oriented stuffs like Data Structures, Statistics, and many other subjects, which are crucial for understanding to build our maths and computer science foundation and help us be industry ready. Even for further research or masters, curriculum is well and good. Our exams happens two times in a single semesters, with units divided between the two.

Internships Opportunities

3

College also helps students in their internships by giving them opportunities through many well known companies. Various types of companies comes for recruitment including tech, non-tech and core sectors. Although mostly tech companies comes. To crack these internships, you must have good command over your skills along with decent CGPA. Stipend also is very attractive with some students even crossing 1 lakh per month stipend.

Placement Experience

5

Placements in DTU are one of the attraction points for aspirants. Here, placements have been solid and impressive. For the 2024-25, there was an average placement package of around 15 LPA. From 3rd year, companies start coming to the campus for placements and internships. Various companies from tech to core and non-tech companies comes each year. Highest placement package given was 85 LPA given by Atlassian. In tech branches, around 70-80% students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total amount of fees for DTU in Mathematics and Computing branch consists of various components and facilities. For the complete BTech course of 4 years, it is going to be approx Rs. 11,00,000. This includes tuition fees and other components like alumni fees, student welfare fees, etc. For first year, it is around 2,50,000 Rs. And yes, the fees is increasing each year by approx 30000 Rs. For economically weak students, there are numerous scholarship opportunities available which you can apply for like MCM scholarship, DTU fee waivers, SC/ST waivers, etc.

Campus Life

4

Overall campus life is full of fun and events. You get to participate in many events and fests. Its annual festival is "Engifest", which is largest North Indian fest among colleges and universities. They are typically held in January to February. Library is also good, consisting of centralised AC and WIFI facilities, with various departmental books/journals. Classrooms also have smart boards and projector screens. There are numerous societies and clubs present here, where you can be a part of and explore your interests. Sports and extra curriculars are also given encouragement. There is also a gym facility in the complex.

Admission

When I had applied for JAC, I had option of NSUT or IIIT Delhi, but I had chosen this, as DTU has one of the oldest legacies, alumni network and college culture and all. Also, my course Mathematics and Computing syllabus at DTU is one of the best you can get in engineering colleges, hence, there was slight inclination. Keeping in mind, high fees of IIIT Delhi... Admission process is simple and you can apply for it via JAC Delhi counselling through your JEE Mains scorecard. You just need to have 60% in your CBSE 12th boards.

Faculty

3

Many teachers and profs are helpful, but few are not. But they all are qualified and knowledgeable. It is just that some lacks teaching skills. But all of them have great passion for their subjects. Faculty to student ratio is okayish. You can always approach them for doubts regarding subject or research. From my experience, most of us usually complete our syllabus from online resources like Youtube and e-books along with library departmental books. Rest curriculum is good and relevant. In one sem, we have two exams- midsem and endsems. You gonna find them easy if you are attentive in class/studies a bit.

Night Life

4

NIghtlife in DTU is quite enjoyable and fun. You can sit at Open Air Theatre doing talks and fun with friends. If you are a hosteller or have nearby PG, then it is quite fun. But for daily scholars, situation is not exactly so. As, you will be in a hurry to finish classes and catch the metro to get home :) Campus is open throughout the day. But can't say much about hostels. Library is good with centralised AC and WiFi. Gymnasium is also present near the sports complex, having all the necessary equipments.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.
