Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is not really that relevant as it has few subjects which do not really add to the overall development but at the same time over the next semesters it would really get improved which does prove its relevancy along with that the option to choose minors and other subjects really does improve the course relevancy so say overall it's pretty decent. The difficulty and frequency of exams is pretty acceptable as we get only two exams a semester which are of decent level as if one prepares for them they could easily score good. Apart from that to improve course structure and relevancy they could add more hands-on experience since it would really help in getting the real world experience, though there have been made some changes in the course over the past years which has really led to a better course overall.

Internships Opportunities

5

Since i am a first year student i have not yet landed an intership. Though i have heard only good things about it. Many professors even recommend students for research interships or even in leading companies.

Placement Experience

4

Placement of DTU are really decent considering the current job market. For electric branch, the average package is 12 lakhs, while the highest package this year was 48 lakhs, and still the offers are still coming in. Now for the eligibility, all the students of the branch are eligible to sit for placement. There is no CG criteria, unlike other NITs or IITs, which makes the percentage placed students less compared to other colleges. As for me i plan to join a core company and further purse my interest in electronics

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee structure for the course is as follows: the 1st-year fee is 2.5 Lakhs, the 2nd-year fee is 2.75 Lakhs, the 3rd-year fee is 3.1 Lakhs, and the 4th-year fee is 3.3 Lakhs. Additional charges such as hostel, mess, examination fees, and other miscellaneous fees amount to 1.5 Lakhs per year. The total fee for the complete course comes to 15 Lakhs, and the fees are increasing every year. If they are increasing, the annual increase is approximately 25k inr. Regarding scholarships, the institute offers scholarhsips only to people of reserved category, generally vaiving 20-30% off of the course fee. The major source of scholarships is the government and private companies.

Campus Life

5

The campus life of DTU is really great as it's known for a lot of number of fests which keep happening every month so it makes campus life really lively and there is always something to do. Apart from that there are a number of clubs and societies which are active in DTU working on different fields which really helps one to explore their own interest whether it be musicals, electronics, aerodynamics, or anything for that matter. Now for sports facilities, DTU has a large sports complex which offers a number of sports such as a large cricket ground, three to four badminton courts, a lawn tennis court, a basketball court, a court for kabaddi, and a volleyball court, making sure everyone can play the sporys of their interest. Apart from that, there is also an on-campus gymnasium which really further improves the quality of life.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel and mess fee for 10 months come down to be 100k, the hostels wre tripple sharing. Hostel for 1st years are not so good, they are just repurposed staff quaters but the attached bathroom and washrooms are really the saving grace. Though things get much better 2nd year ownwards. The mess here is decent considering the price, there are days where the food is not good but most of the times is decent and sometimes even tasty. We get served chicken 4 times a week in non veg and Panner/Soya chap in veg which is really good considering we pay 38k for 10 months of mess. Wr get food 4 times a day. Though the limited food availability and being only allowed to take snacks ones is a bummer but understandable. The hostel registration takes place online, once registered you will be mailed to pay mess and hostel fee as per the hostel you have been alloted after that youll get the payment slip which you need to submit in the mess to get mess id and the hostel office to get access to the room you have been alloted. We get a table , chair, a bed and almirah in hostel to make our stay here enjoyable and comfortable. There are plenty of PGs in the locality some providing better services at really great prices even less then hostel fees.

Admission

DTU is a pretty decent college and considering I come from Delhi, it was my best chance at getting a decent college. I had prepared for advanced as well but that didn't leave too well and I was not getting a decent college as a result of which I had to choose a DTU since I get home state reservation which may greatly improve the chances of getting a good branch. That's why I chose DTU. If not for DTU, I would probably have went for a lower NIT in some northeastern state. As a result, that would not have been great for my career and other opportunities. As for what went wrong in my preparation, since I took a drop I got really exhausted in the last month which greatly affected my preparation and as a result of which I wasn't able to score to best of my abilities. I only know about the B.Tech courses. As for eligibility, one has to get at least 60% in 12th board examination and a decent score in JEE means to get a good seat in a good branch. And about the admission process, it's really easy as you have to go through the JAC counseling which is conducted online. And once you get a seat, you have to pay the seat acceptance fee. Even if you don't want that particular seat, you still have to pay the fees and to be eligible for further rounds. And that's about it. Once you get that, you will get an admission slip which you can use in the orientation to show your admission has been completed. So it's really easy.

Faculty

3

The faculty are easy to approach and are genrally really chill about things like attendance. Though their class material is not really great one has to study on their own, if they wish to score good. I really liked my maths professor Mrs. Pooja Yadav, she is a really supportive teacher always keen to help and even telling us our mistakes in exam. I didnt like my Programing fundamental professor Dr. Rahul, due to their arrogant attitude and not really helping students. We have 2 exams in a semester, the midsems generally have syllabus of a 2 unit whereas endsems have syallbus 5,6 units. The exams are foe the most part decent and quite scorable if someone makes consistent effort from the start itself. The course curriculum imo is not really that relevant, because as a electrical student i was made to study Civil engineering which had no use. They course relevancy could be worked upon

Night Life

5

There are decent number of hangout spots on campus. The amul lane is always bustling with students. Various cafe houses inside campus also serve as a great hangout spot the Raydee cafe as impeccable vibe with feiry lights and songs playing in the backgorund. While nescafe, kitkat and HIMS are also really great hangout spot. Dtu's library is quite good, featuring 3 floors having plenty of sitting space with a lot of books. Library also stays open 24×7 during exam time which results lot of late night study sessions and snacking sessions. The locality of DTU is not really good cause of it being located on the outskirts, at night its not really safe to go out of campus and students prefer to stay inside. But due to metro station being really close the connectivity of DTU is really great and one can easily explore spots like CP, India gate etc.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
