Course Curriculum Overview
Course is really to the industry standards and i choose this course just because of CSE tag. I've asked seniors about the curriculum and they have told that it is great and up to the industry levels and real life problems. The timings of the exams is very surprising as any quiz or viva can be scheduled anytime.
Internships Opportunities
Dozens of companies come for internship opportunities in college like Google, Microsoft. I'm not really aware about the work but senior do say they're hectic work. They work in big projects as well and some crack PPOs based on internship.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from 4th year and many get PPOs in 3rd year as well. Top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Google, visits the campus for placement. In CSE last year, the highest package was around 60 LPA with average around 17-18 LPA with 80% got placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
During the admission process, I've to submit 94k for the tuition and 72k for hotel room and 4350 per month for mess (student get rebate if given absent letter). Also, there is no fee waiver based on category but College provies fee waiver based on BPL and merit. Category wise, fees is same.
Campus Life
I'm happy with the campus as we have a lot of clubs and PECFEST and a lot of technical societies. In library, we got tons of books to study and we can issue them for free as well. Classrooms are decent. Sports and other activities are decent.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels room are below average as comapred to the fees we are paying but enough for two people go live. Mess food is good. We need to register for hostels offline in first year at the college. Some students also go for PG which are nearby. Note: Home state quota students are not eligible for hostel accommodation
Admission
Honestly, I choose this college just because of placements and packages. I also applied for top NITs, IIITs but based on rank I got this. In terms of PEC, Jossa and CSAD counselling and DASA is required for admission
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is around 1:15 and teachers are really well educated and knowledgeable and they help students also (few are bad in teaching). In first year, i liked maths, communication skills and electronics subject faculty while Physics, Computer faculty i dislike and both are based on teaching. Exams here, are moderate to tough and we need to study really hard to get good grades.
Night Life
In college, we got gym, library, sports ground like cricket ground, football ground, athletic ground etc and PEC market and two cafes as well. Hostel late night timing if 10 PM officially. People usually go out in many areas of Chandigarh to see outside world
