Remarks
College Was very good in my experience. Teaching quality is also okay and also u can get a lot of exposure to yourself and due to competitive mindsets ur level will be increased. But some of the faculty was very bad. They neither help u or listen to your problems overall the college was good if u control yourself.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very few and basics of 10th 12th exam u have to prepare accordingly with ur course and syllabus. And the exam was a multiple question type for each correct and u get 1 mark and for every incorrect will be deducted 1/4 th mark of total mark.
Placement Experience
Nowadays placement is very bad in all the Engg. Colleges not only at IGIT ,Sarang. Bt I most say as compared to other colleges the placement is very good. The companies like Vedanta, Tata steel Bsl, and some other off campus such as Tcs nd alot of software company comes to take place. The ratio of placement is out of 10 people 3-4 get placed. According to that u have to study hard.
College Events
This was the most favorit question of mine. A technical college have that spice of techno fest. A lot of branch fest and finally Horizon one of the best techno fest of Odisha is here celebrated at Sarang. U will enjoy alot don't worry.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure was decided by the board earlier but after it is declared as Autonomous college now it was decided by the college. The admissions fee is around 35000 for General and Obc category and for Sc&St it was around 12-13k. If u are a TFW students then also ur admission fee around 12-13k. And mess charge is around 13-16k per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarship provided by the state govt. And the central govt. Such as prenana and medhabruti u can apply them and also some private scholarship is also available. Such as jindal scholarship and many more.
Campus Life
The stadium of IGIT was best stadium among all the engineering college in Odisha. It was a very big stadium , IGIT have one of the big and beautiful lab. Bt cleaning is required regularly some of the equipment doesn't used much so they are in bad condition.
Hostel Facilities
Brahmos Bhawan infrastructure was very good but food was average. And Surya Bhawan food was delicious and room was average. There are around 10 Hostel including boys and girls in the college. The hostel facility was very good.
Alumni/Alumna
Very few are helpful and the alumni was not good enough. But I must say that IGIT alumni in various big company like Tata , Essar , Jindal etc on a great position. They may be can give u reference if ur relationship with the particular person is good.
Admission
There was a exam.conducted by the Odisha govt. Called Ojee u have to qualify the exam and based on your rank u get selected on the college. Igit is one of the best Engg. College in Odisha and my stream Metallurgy is best in Odisha among all the colleges in odisha.
Faculty
Some of the teacher are very friendly and helpful they will help beyond their capacity bt few are very bad. U have to attend the class regularly they can teach very fastly u have to match up them. If any doubt then they can solve after the class when ever they free.
