Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course curriculum is well planned and well structured which include inportant core subjects like cloud computing, computer organization and architecture, various programming languages that influenced my decision to choose this course. Some subjects like AI in real world are also incorporated to match current industry trends and emerging technologies to make the students industry ready. It provides a good balance between theory and practical learning, which helps in understanding rela world applications. This course prepares students for entry level industry roles to a reasonable extent. AREA OF IMPROVEMENT: Course curriculum regularly keep an check on the current industry trends and emerging technologies and update the course according to it so that no student lag behind it. Should improve placement training by offering more and more soft skills classes and technical boot camps and also mock interviews. University can also strengthen industry interactrion through interships, workshops, and guest lectures. Should also increase hands on learning through more projects, case studies and practical assignments. EXAM TIMINGS: The frequency and timing of exams are quite decent as they provide proper gap between subjects to revise and perform in exams. And between both the CTs there is almost one month of time to prepare and meanwhile they take the presentation and assignments (internal assesments). From my personal experience I would like to say that if you have gone through all the study materials uploaded by the faculty member in the forum and attended the classes properly then you will be able to answer the questions. You will feel like moderate type of questions were there.

Internships Opportunities

5

Brainware University provides intership opportunities through its placement and training cell with companies from IT, software, education, and startup sectors.Reowned and reputed companies like Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Google etc provide internship here. Students get roles like software itern, web developer, data analyst trainee, and digital marketing intern. Some interships offers stipends mainlky for technical and long term roles. During interships students work on real world projects such as website development, application testing, data handling, and market analysis. Some internship provide stipends, especially technical or off campus ones, while others focus more on learning experience. These projects help students gain practical skills, improve confidence, and build strong resumes for future placements.Faculty members guide students in choosing imnterships that match their skills. Their experiences help students understand industry work culture, improve communication and technical skills and boost confidence. Overall, interships at Brainware University prepare students better for placements and real world job challenges.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENT: At Brainware University students generally become eligible for campus placement from the final years of their course. For many programs placemnet preparation sactivities such as aptitude training, soft skills development, resume building, mock interviews begin earlier, you can say that these activities are incoporated from the 1st semester itself. COMAPINES VISIT: Several reowned and reputed compaines from IT, management, healthcare, media, and core sectors visits the university for campus recruitment. Placement drive include companines from domains such as software services, consulting, education, sales digital marketing etc. For my domain CSE AIML companies like Infosys,Amazon,Cognizant,Adobe etc visits. Each year multiple students receive job offers through campus drives and some students also secure multiple offers depending on their skills and performance. HIGHEST AND AVERAGE PACKAGE OFFERED: The highest package offered varies by course and recruiter and also with top performing students receive highest packages based on their role requirements and skills. It range from 12 LPA to 45 LPA. The average package offered to students is competitive for a private university and aligns with industry standards for entry level roles. These generally range from 3.5 to 8 LPA. PRECENTAGE OF STUDENTS GETTING PLACED: Placement outcome mostlky depend on academic performance, attendance, communication skills, technical knowledge, and participation in training sessions. Students who actively engage in placement preparation have better placement success. About 98% students were placed in 2023. MY PLAN AFTER GETTING THE DEGREE: After completing the degree my primary focus is to secure a jon through campus placement and gain practical knowledge. Along with working i will continuously work on my skills upgradation through certifications and training programs relevant to my field.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee for the course (BTECH CSE AIML) which I have enrolled in is 579600 for 4 years. It includes the tuition fees, caution fees, registration fees, development fees, lab fees, library fees and the other compulsory charges during the course completion. The prcedure to pay the fees is quite normal like other colleges. You have the pay the course fees semester wise, at the beginning of every semester you have to first pay its fees which will include all the fees like maintainence, lab, library etc. For the students who take direct admission in the university can access the early bird offer which result in relaxation upto 30k in the course fees. In addition to this, university provide scholarship from its end called Brainware Merit Scholarship after analyzing your percentage of 10+2. It also provide numerous scholarship like SVMCM, Kanyashree and other private scholarships both for general category students and minority students.

These festivals encourage creativity, teamwork, and student engagement beyond academics. LIBRARY RESOURCES: The university have numerous libraries like Central, Law, Nursing etc. Libraries are well stocked with a wide range of academic books, reference materials, journals, and e-recources relaated to varoius disciplines. Sports such as badminton, table tennis, cricket, chess etc. The university encourages students to participate in sports and fitness activities and inter college events. These activities help maintain a healthy balance between academics and physical well being. STUDENT-RUN SOCIAL GROUPS, CLUBS : Brainware University has various student-run clubs and socities including cultural, technical, literary and social service groups. These clubs organize events, competions, workshops and awareness programs. Participation in these groups helps students build leadership skills, confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of community on campus.

Admission

I applied to multipl colleges offering similar courses. Some collegese were rejected due to high cut offs, limited seats, or delay in the admission process. In a few cases, my scores was slightly below the required cut-off, and in others, the counselling schedule clasehed with my exams. Igot my letter from VITEE but due its high course fee I rejected it. And also got some colleges from WBJEE counselling but either due to infrastructure or high pricing or some issues I rejected all of them. Then finally decided to opt for Brainware University as it is one of the best private university in West Bengal. It is also ranked 1st in IIRF 2024 under Technical Private University in West Bengal category which is the most prominent reason for choosing this university. I chose this college over other because of the transparent admission process, reasonable eligibility criteria and a well- managed academic structure. The faculty support and good student feedback were key deciding factors. Compared to other colleges the process is way smoother and organized. My college support both direct admission and through WBJEE counselling. Through direct admission you just have to visit the official website of the Brainware University and enroll yourself. You will get a call from the admission cell as soon as possible. The person (counsellor) talking to you will describe you each and every detail about the course you are interested in. The basic criteria is 60% of marks in 12th boards. They slo sometimes take their own entrance exam in a online format which will get evaluated at the same moment.

Faculty

5

Faculties in the university are very interactive and friendly with the students. They provide proper guidance in all the feilds whether it is in any project building or in practical labs or in the theory classes. They try to explain the concept with the help of real life example so that we understand the concept deeply and clearly with proper insights. They are always willing to help out the students. Some faculty like Manas sir is so approachable that you can share anything with him and he'll help you to figure it out. He help us more than any other faculty can do. He explained the upcoming scenarios of interview panel and how difficult the competition in job market is going to be so be prepared for it and what steps to take as a freshers. And the same university which has faculty like Manas sir there is also some faculty like Bikram Aditya sir who like to showcase the personal grudges of students in their answer sheets. I personally feel like this is not a professional behaviour or ethics of a teacher. Basically there is 2 exams one is mid semester exam and one is end semester exam. Both of the exam have moderate level. The mid semester exams are divided into 2 parts CT 1( class test) and CT 2 each of 20 marks but in result it is evaluated as the average of 20 marks, assignment is of 10 marks in total and presentation is of 10 marks and end semester exaam is of 60 marks. All of these together make 100 marks. Same for practical exams 60 for practical, 20 for viva and 20 for daily practical evaluation. Yes students do fail in exam. They get back in paper.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
