Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is designed in not that good way, but you can cover all the aspects of computer science and get placed in a good company. This course(CSE-AI&ML) covers almost all the important topics which are required for job and placements. Teaching mehods are average, but it will give us more exposure if we start focusing on practicals more. Semester wise exam occurs and difficulty level is easy to moderate as I mentioned before.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship opportunities are very competitive because maximum companies visit college for full time offer rather than internship offer. Some students get PPO(Pre-Placement Offer) also based on their performance during internship period. In last year some companies recruit students for internships. Honestly in my department(CSE-AI&ML), 33 seniors are in internship in Rs. 12000/- stipend. From my department, 96% students are already placed with the average package of 6 lpa and till now highest package is 12 lpa.

Placement Experience

4

Placement are good enough. From 6th semester students become eligible to for campus placements(internships as well as full time offer). 105 companies visited in 2025 and many package offered by them based on student's skill. highest palcement : 45 LPA offered by amazon. Percentage of students getting placemnets : 86%. After getting the degree my plan is to take a decent job and to be finanancially stable.

Fees and Financial Aid

FOR CSE-AI&ML : - Year wise fee structure : 126000 Tution fees(CSE-AI&ML) : 65000 per semester Admission fees : 5000 Refundable Caution money(For Institute) : 5000 Students welfare, sports & game fees : 1000 library, book bank fee : 1500 Cost of Admission Form/ ID card/ Prospectus(One Time) : 10000 Career Development fees : 5000 University Registration fee : 500 University Developement Fees : 2200 FOR OTHER DEPARTMENTS :- ALMOST SAME FEE STRUCTURE (MAY BE 5-10k LESS OR MORE) Available Scholarship(s) : SVMCM - 2,40,000(60,000/Year) - For those students with 60% marks in semester exam and for domicile students of West Bengal

Campus Life

5

Campus life is good. There are two main fests organized every year - Tech fest(November) and Cultural fest(Jauary or february) Library is mig and you can get any kind of books/journals you want and library environment is calm as well as quiet. Technological provisions in classrooms are good enough. There are smartboards in the smart classroom and projectors in Lab also. Sports curriculum is versatile and very competitive. There are various kind of outdoor sports like football, cricket, basketball, badminton, volleyball and indoor sports are carrom, table tennis etc. Social life is very good here. There are many clubs and groups regarding technologies(eg.:Robotics), arts, music, etc.

Admission

Okay, I've applied for 2-3 colleges(IEM Kolkata, Heritage Institute of Technology kolkata, Techno India Main Saltlake) alongwith HIT Haldia. But I choose this college because of mainly two reasons- 1)This is near my hometown. 6-7 km away from my house 2)My some school seniors are also studied here so they said me to take admission here Yes I've got rejection from many colleges also because my WBJEE and JEE main ranks are not so good. But I was selected to take admission i some colleges also but I didn't make that because of expensive fee structure and poor placements. Admission process of my college is not that much complicated for Regular admission like through WBJEE and JEE Mains. But for Direct admission(management quota) you may encounter some difficulties.

Faculty

4

There are 60 students in my batch and for 60 students, 10 faculties are assigned in academics. But you can approach another faculty to consider your any kind of academic problem and they are really supportive except 2-3 individuals of any semester. Honestly, in my department(CSE-AI&ML) faculties as well as HOD sir are really very supportive. In every semester, there are 4 exams(Class test 1,2,&3 and final semester). Class tests are worth 15 marks and final semester is worth 70 marks and there are also some internal marking scheme like PCA, attendence, Faculty-student interaction, etc. Exams are not that tough. It's basically easy to medium level. But sometimes difficulty level increases also. So in every semester there are 4-5 students from every batch fails and they have to clear their backlogs to promote to next smester. Course curriculum is not that advanced even in first semester you have to perform C programming in Turbo-C software.

Night Life

5

Nightlife of HIT Haldia is very good . Okay there are many hangout spots in our campus like GARDEN resturant, GANGCHIL, etc. Gym is also available for all students . Hostel infrastructure is good. 8.00 p.m. is the timing of girls hostel and 9.00 p.m. for boys. Famous hangout places inside campus are GARDEN, GANGCHIL, etc. In outside there are also very decent hangout spots in haldia like city centre, etc. And all the hangout spots are very safe.

Other Applied Colleges

Institute of Engineering and Management - [IEM] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Artificial Intelligence)

I didn't choose this college because this college is far away from my hometown

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
