Likes

The societies of the college are very active and engaging.
There is diversity of students in the college which leads to cultural exposure.
The crowd of the college is also quite intellectual, intelligent and ambitious.

Dislikes

Curriculum of the coursework is very traditional and teaching style is also outdated.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum and teaching style does not seem practical and relevant enough to me. The teaching style could be more technical and engaging than focusing on teaching the theory to the students. The curriculum should also be made relevant with the current needed skills required in the job market. Otherwise my course is one of the most demanded courses in Delhi university.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 22815 per year

Placement Experience

Students of the 5th and 6th semester can participate in placement drives. And students earlier than this can participate in the internship drives as well. Highest package last year was around 13 lakhs and average package was around 7 lakhs. I plan on doing an mba after my degree and this year I am planning on sitting for internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the college is nominal, although it is increasing year by year. The college does provide financial aid for students, I don't know much about it because I didn't apply for it. The fees paid is around 22,815 for each year for my course.

Campus Life

The annual fest of the college is called- NEXUS. It is quite famous in the Delhi university circle. There goes on quite a big preparation for the event. Other small events take place from time to time in the college which provide fun and escape from the mundane life.

Admission

I applied to nmims Mumbai and got in. I didn't go there because it was a backup for me if I didn't get into a good college in Delhi university. I put Venky in my preference list at 6th number( above colleges like Ramjas, sgtb Khalsa college ) etc. It seemed the best choice which u could get based on my Cuet score (892/1000)

Faculty

We have 3 core subjects and one skill enhancement course (sec ), one value addition course (vac) and one ability enhancement course (aec). There is also a ge ( generic elective) course. So overall we have 7 subjects in the first 4 semesters. The curriculum is a little outdated. Exams are moderately difficult. The faculty in the first semester wasn't great according to me.

Night Life

The area around the college is Satya Niketan. It has everything that a student might need in their day to day life. It also has gaming zones and eating spots to hang out with friends after classes. Overall it is a student area. But I don't find it safe to roam at night in that area as a female.

Shyam lal college not on my wishlist

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Underrated College- An honest opinion

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

All about SRCC life, exposure, placements, faculty and my experience

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Honest review of SLC

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...

My view regarding my college

Remarks:

Academically you can choose it but if you are looking for some fancy institution with some best infrastructure and fancy canteen I won't suggest you this college. But this college has one of the very best cricket team and one of our student named Mayank dagar is leading Indian National under-19 team. So I think you understand the impact.
