Course Curriculum Overview

2

The curriculum of the course I am pursuing, Bachelor of Commerce, is fairly comprehensive, but there are a few issues with it. Most of the subjects you have to study are relevant and do a decent job of increasing your skills and knowledge, and overall I would say it does provide you with useful knowledge that can be applied in the real world. However, one glaring issue is the mandatory language subjects which students have to study. These subjects are not overtly difficult, however they are unnecessary and only serve to take away time from more relevant subjects.

Placement Experience

3

The placements of SVC are fairly decent. The average package for all courses was around 6 lakhs per annum, and the highest was around 21 lakhs per annum. In the recent session, over 40 companies participated, including EY, Accenture, Deloitte, etc. and offered over 150 offeres, including financial market analyst, associate researcher wealth manager, and business associate. After getting my degree, I plan to work in finance.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees for the course I am pursuing, B.Com, at sri venkateswara college is rs.22855 for the 1st year, rs.22165 for the 2nd year, and rs.22725 for the 3rd year. The fees decrease very slightly for the 2nd year but increase in the 3rd year. The caution deposit+university fee is rs.4040 in 1st year, 3540 in 2nd year and rs.3540 again in the 3rd year. The college does not offer any independent scholarships or financial aid, but students can apply for financial aid to Delhi University

Campus Life

4

Sri venkateswara college has one annual festival, Nexus, which is usually held in February or March. The fest has a good reputation in DU and is usually very well organised. The college also has a lot of societies, both ones specific to the college as well as inter-college ones such as Enactus, IFSA, 180DC, etc., most of which are great opportunities to be a part of. The campus has a few sports facilities which are well-maintained. Although the classrooms are somewhat unmaintained, every classroom has a projector and the ICT lab is well stocked. The library also has a very good range of material. Every subject of every course has at least 4-5 books available.

Admission

I applied to this college and several others which are all part of the University of Delhi. Admissions are processed through the common CSAS portal where students can provide a preference list of the colleges which they wish to attend, in order of desirability, and they are allotted a college based on their CUET or other qualifying exam scores. I had placed this college very high on my preference list due to its history of being academically rigorous, the abundance of extracurricular activities provided, its comparitively high placements and its reputation. Although I had placed other colleges higher, which I oculd not get into due to my scores being lower than required, I do not regret choosing this college

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio in my course's department is fairly decent. Although there are not that many teachers, there are enough to handle any issues that might come up. The teachers are generally very approachable and helpful, they will try their best to accommodate any issues you might face and are able to effectively help students understand topics. The college has 1 set of internal tests per semester and one set of external university exams per semester. Relatively few students fail to clear the exams, most of them pass even if they do not do very well.

Night Life

3

There is no specific nightlife around the college, but the college is right next to satya niketan, which has a lot of cafeterias, shops, and tons of places where you can hang out with friends. It is not completely safe to roam around very late at night but because of how many people are generally there and the locality it is fairly safe. The college does not let people inside after 4pm. There are a decent amount of famous places within a reasonable distance form the college, such as humayun's tomb and hauz khas.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
