What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the location of the college as it's located in a very accessible and sort of posh area.
- Our college has a lot of societies which can be very fun for someone wanting a very active social life.
- The faculty is absolutely amazing especially in the commerce department
Dislikes
- There are no other colleges nearby us which is sad as we don't see many students other than those of our own college around
- The campus is not very big which means you may get bored quickly
- The infrastructure of the college is quite old, non air conditioned classrooms feel like hell in summers
Course Curriculum Overview
I took the this course as I wanted to get into the finance sector later on and turns out it's not very helpful in that regard on its own (without a master's). The course is also very outdated and lacks real world touch in today's society this the curriculum needs to be revised, I also believe that the course needs some specialisations so that students have more options to choose from according to their interests.
Internships Opportunities
Zomato, KPMG, Pwc, EY, and DE shaw are some of the big companies among all other to offer internships across profes such as Business Development and Sales, Content Writing and Curation, Graphics and Social Media , Human Resource and IT etc. INR 40k per month was the highest stipend offered
Placement Experience
more than a hundred companies recruit from here KPMG Global Service, EY GDS, D.E. Shaw Group, Genpact Enterprise Risk Consulting, JLL, Accenture, HCL Tech, Acies, Grant Thornton, Willis Tower Watson, L&T Construction, and TresVista are some of the big names around 200 hundred students were placed in different profiles such as technology, finance, Digital Marketing, Operations, and more. Highest package was 23.5 LPA P.A and Median package was 5 LPA P.A
Fees and Financial Aid
My fee in first year was INR 14,500 while in second year it was INR 12,395 other than that there's is an exam fee for every end semester exam which varies somewhere between 1500 to 2500 depending on what subjects you take for that semester, Practical subjects have a higher fee compared to theory subjects.
Campus Life
The campus life here is very active as the college has teams in a lot of sports and even offers support in individual sports as well as other extra curricular activities such as drama, music, dance etc. A lot of student run societies are there as well that make college very fun for someone who's into these activities
Admission
Dyal Singh College comes under the University of Delhi this the admissions are done on the basis only CUET exam results. I had applied to other top Delhi University Colleges and some private colleges aswell however I didn't get very high marks in CUET and thus fell short of the cutoff of really big colleges but luckily I cleared this colleges cutoff and although I was accepted in a few other private colleges I chose this college as it offered not only great ROI but also a very active social life
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is around 1:60, most the teachers are very helpful and approachable and obviously all of them are quite qualified and experienced for their jobs which makes studies sort of easier as you can grasp most of the things in class itself if you pay attention the exams itself are moderately difficult.
Night Life
The location of the college is one of its biggest perks as it has famous places such as humayun tomb and lodhi garden are walking distance from the college and make up nice places to rest and roam around with friends after classes and though the area doesn't have a very fun night life but it is very safe to roam around at night
