Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would rate the course curriculum as relatively relevant and comprehensive. I believe that all of the topics learned are highly relevant to commerce; my interest in Accountancy was one of my driving reasons to do a Bachelor of Commerce course; and also because I am already studying Chartered Accountancy. The curriculum has good practical value in real life, and this is evident in the use of case studies to help relate theory to reality. However, to enhance the course, practical components need to be added to the curriculum. Exams are usually held at the end of each semester, in the afternoons. The questions in the exam are of moderate difficulty level. Any student who regularly studies can clear the exam comfortably.

Fees and Financial Aid

The system of fees in my course has been implemented on a yearly basis. I have payed a total of ?20,750 in my first year of college, while in my second year, my total fees increased to ?22,165. The stated fees have been included as the total fees applicable to my classification as a General category student, as I am a member of the General category. A slight increment has been observed in the fees from my first year to my second year in my collegiate days. The same system of fees was applicable to my other batchmates as well, as I am a member of the General category. As of now, I have yet to avail specific scholarships or financial aids in the form of merit-cum-need scholarships, etc.

Campus Life

4

My overall campus life experience has been quite good. The students are much fun to interact with, and socializing on campus is easy. There are quite active students' societies and clubs in college, like the Finance and Investment Cell, 180 DC, and the Placement Cell. All of these societies and clubs contribute much to the development of skills, exposures, and also engaging students. Nexus is the annual cultural festival of the college, usually organized every year in the month of February. The College has a well-organized and spacious library in the college campus, that deals in a wide range of books and journals. The library system follows a very convenient procedure. Students can get their required books issued instantly using their ID cards. Classroom infrastructure is good, projectors in each classroom and good technological facilities to support learning. Additionally, the college has lift facilities readily available to help students with disabilities move around easily within the facility. It also has good sports and extracurricular activities. Students regularly participate in various inter-college competitions.

Admission

I opted for this college as it was the best option in the entire South Campus of Delhi University, considering my CUET score, which has a good reputation in the DU circuit. When compared to other colleges, this one stood out from the rest due to its good faculty, good academic culture, and good campus culture as well. Since the admission was based on CUET, I also applied to SRCC, Hindu College, Hansraj College, and Kirori Mal College, but was not granted admission due to a slightly low CUET score. Another college in Chandigarh also offered me admission, but this college is better from the exposure perspective. Admission takes place through CUET, then preference filling and multiple allotment based on cutoff marks. Cutoff marks for my course were around 752. Admission was smooth and easy in my case.

Faculty

4

The faculty members in my college are knowledgeable, supportive, and approachable. The classes are held regularly as per schedule, and the faculty members remain open towards doubt clarification and guidance. The faculty-to-student ratio is maintained at a perfect balance, with approximately two to three teachers for a class of 75 students per subject matter; tutorial support was also received in some areas. Some of the faculty members I liked were Dr. Vinod, who taught Financial Management in the third semester and was particularly helpful with assignments and presentations. The course pattern comprises seven examinations in one semester, with three core subjects, one general elective, and a few enhancement courses. The examinations are moderately difficult, with a passing percentage of about 90-95% being on the higher side. The curriculum is relevant and reasonably well integrated with the program of Bachelor of Commerce, with emphasis on practical subjects related to commerce.

Night Life

5

Generally, the nightlife around the college is good. The social scene is mainly centered around Satya Niketan, which is situated just in front of the college. There are a number of cafés, dining places, and eating joints that students go to after college to just hang around and enjoy life as a student. Similarly, in Satya Niketan, there are a few gyms and libraries which are generally used by the students in the evenings. Some of the popular student hangout areas include gaming cafes which are available near the college and where many students can generally be found. The area around the college is also safe, even during the night. There is a police control room right in front of the college, which ensures the safety of the students during the daytime as well as nighttime.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
