Likes
- Faculty is very good and welcoming in our college,they are very polite towards us. In the first year,the faculty were a little strict but otherwise they are very very nice.
- Our college infrastructure is very very good.We have AC in our college especially for Computer science department and labs too and those are very good.
- Other thing which is good is the cleanliness,our college is very clean and well maintained,we have fests,college programs,and we are invited for many festivals too.
Dislikes
- Things I disliked is unavailability of some particular subjects,like for some subjects we don't have teachers.
- Second ,I don't like is the time management, teachers makes a group and calls anytime whenever they want
- Third is no proper flow of classes, sometimes classes time are fixed but teachers aren't available and they cancel which is very time wasting
Course Curriculum Overview
The course and curriculum are very good although they are difficult too. But our faculty try very very hard to teach and make everything understandable. They teach us in Hindi,bengali and english so that each student understand that
Internships Opportunities
Companies that came to our college are Ambuja cement,we have government internship too which was from New jalpaiguri railway station for our department which is electronics and instrumentation. And ETCE department were taken for private training sessions in different colleges where they got to know about robotics
Placement Experience
From the 6th semester,students becomes eligible for campus placements.we are taken for internships too. There are many companies that visited and came for placement mostly for computer science and electrical departments Some companies name which I remember is ambuja cement for civil department. One more company came whose name I don't remember for electrical department. Although the placement ratio is very less,people prefer doing B tech after diploma
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee structure of our college is 2000 per year. 250 rupees taken for examination fees And many scholarships are provided too for SC/ST and OBC students. Plus we have Kanya shree enrollment option too. Although we currently don't have hostel in our college. But we had few years back and the fees was 50 rupees
Campus Life
The annual festivals in our college are bang on. We celebrate every festival in our college. We have fest per year and fresher party too. We have many extra curricular activities like ,we are given so many talks and competition from outside college.we participate in those and win prizes.
Admission
Oky so I applied for many colleges in the counselling time but those colleges were very far from my hometown and Siliguri government polytechnic college comes at top 10 colleges for this diploma course and Also I came on a merit basis My 10th marks were asked and they gave me a rank and then I had to go for counseling and admission process for which I came to Siliguri made my admission. Also there's one thing that in the admission time it was written that we have hostel in our college but when we visited physically they said they don't have hostel. So I have to live in PG
Faculty
The faculty in the first semester were very strict. They maintained discipline in the first year and we actually have 2 campuses ,one campus is for first year students and other campus is for second and third year students so the first year campus teacher were a little strict.But second and third year faculty are very sweet , supportive and good.We have 2 internal exams taken by the faculty of every subject. And one semester exam at end of sem of all the subjects whose guarding is very much.So there's no scope of cheating.
Interview Experience
No ,The exam is now not happening as the Jexpo exam is merit based. So we don't have to give exams for admission We get admission on the basis of marks obtained in our 10th Boards or matriculation and then the rank list is published
Night Life
We have library in our college and also we have cafeteria but only in one campus which is open during break time and we have some fast food there.although we don't have hostel so we live in PGs or Mess or on rent
