What Students Say
Likes
- Campus Life and Exposure: The campus is extremely lively, with people from various countries and states.
- Industry Exposure & Opportunities: Regular workshops, guest lectures, certifications are held and organized for better preparation of the students for their placements.
- Placement & Career Support: It has a centralized placement cell that brings recruiters from all over various domains, providing diverse opportunities for the students and helping and aiding them in their due course
Dislikes
- Too many opportunities at Once: There are so many events, clubs being held all at once that it used to become very overwhelming initially.
- Faculty Teaching Styles Vary: Different faculty members have different approaches wherein we get to be sometimes more practical oriented or sometimes completely invested in theory
- Large Campus Size: The campus is huge, so moving between academic blocks and hostels can consume a bit of time.
Course Curriculum Overview
It is very well-structured and designed to build both conceptual understanding and practical exposure, which was a major reason i chose this course. The curriculum includes a good mix of core subjects, practical labs, electives, projects and skill-based components. The option to choose electives aligned with current industry trends and the inclusive of internships and project work made the course more attractive to learn.
Internships Opportunities
- Infineon - 43000/month - Amazon - 1,10,000 / month other fintech companies too offer a similar paid internship. Internships offered vary alot in terms of roles, paychecks and even the working lifestyle of the company wherein all of this is pre informed to us.
Placement Experience
Mostly from the 5th Sem (3rd Yr) students are eligible for their placements and can participate in the coming drives. Alot of companies ranging from Amazon to Infineon come every year and max package of 3cr has gone and an average of 12LPA mostly is attained by the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am here sharing the fee structure during my admission year, along with what I observed for my batchmates from other categories. At LPU, the fee structure is defined very clearly and can very slightly increase for the new batches, depending on the university revisions. For students enrolled, the yearly tuition usually remains constant unless officially revised. For UG programs, the yearly academic fees generally fall in this range: Tuition Fees: Rs. 1.20 to 2.00 lakhs per year Examination Fees: Rs. 4000 to 6000 per year And the total Yearly Academic Fees generally lies between: Rs. 1.40 to 2.30 lakhs (approx.) I belong to the General Category, but here is what I have observed among batchmates: 1. SC/ST Students: Lower effective fees due to governement scholarships and fee reimbursments 2. Meritorous Students (High LPUNEST Rank): These students are asked to pay significantly less tuition fees. Major Scholarships: 1. LPUNEST Merit Scholarship: Based on the entrance test exam Upto 25-50 % tuition fee waiver
Campus Life
My experience was great. Alot of technical clubs of AWS are held and others like guest lectures TEDX lectures, events, fests etc are held on a daily basis. Extra-curricular activities are supported alot by the college and following through the students can go a long way like Nationals too.
Admission
I applied to multiple colleges but finally concluded on Lovely Professional University (LPU). While some other options were academically good, I chose LPU because it offered a much better balance of academics, infrastructure, exposure and flexibility, especially considering my profile and career goals. Comparison on Key Parameters: 1. Academics and Curriculum: Compared to other colleges I applied to, a more flexible and updated curriculum with electives, projects, internships and skill based courses. Some other colleges were more theory-oriented with fewer choices. 2. Infrastructure and Facilities 3. Exposure & Opportunities 4. Placements & Career Support Admission Process: Depends on the course but generally: UG: 10+2 with required subjects and minimum percentage PG: Relevant bachelor's degree with minimum marks
Faculty
The faculty-student ratio at LPU is adequate for a large university overall. Classes consume around 60-65 students and most faculties are very approachable during office hours and even beyond. Personal mentoring sessions are held wherein the mentor takes into account our health, fitness, marks and if something else might be bothering us. The relationship between faculty and students is very professional and supportive.
Night Life
The rules are a bit strict for hostels but during night people can go to library, to eat something, generally going outside campus is not preferred by the hostel unless a proper leave is attained. Thus security is also really good out here.
