Course Curriculum Overview

3

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.

Internships Opportunities

3

stipend for interns at HIMS is approximately ?30,000 per month. You are designated as an Intern or Junior Doctor. You work under the supervision of Senior Residents (SRs) and Postgraduates (PGs). workload is tiring with shifts often extending beyond 24 hours in heavy departments like OBG or Surgery, given the high patient load in Hassan.

Fees and Financial Aid

1.The year wise fees cost me around Rs 50,000 as it is a government college,it varies in between 50,000-60,000 for upcoming years. 2.Tuition fees per year was 5000 less than total amount. They would charge the 5000 rs which included development fees, maintenance fees, lab maintenance, and other fees where included in this. 3.My batchmates fees structure was also same as mine 4.Me and my batchmates used to get ssp scholarships, which used to cover our needs .

Campus Life

2

While HIMS is academically rigorous, there are provisions for physical activity, though students often note that a large, dedicated outdoor stadium is a missing link. Outdoor Sports Facilities exist for Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, and Badminton. Indoor Sportscommon rooms in the hostel and college provide Table Tennis, Carom, and Chess. The campus doesn't includes a Gymnasium and spacious grounds that are popular for morning and evening fitness walks or jogging.

Hostel Facilities

1

Most rooms are triple-sharing,Each student is provided with a basic furniture set: a bed frame, a study table, a chair, and a cupboard.Wi-Fi is not available in hostel blocks, and many newer wings feature attached bathrooms.meal quality is the worst ,menu didn't change since my 1 st year ,I keep eating the same foods.????

Admission

Clinical Skill-Building,The massive patient inflow at Sri Chamarajendra Hospital is a major factor.Students often choose HIMS because they believe the hands-on experience here will make them more "clinic-ready" than at colleges with lower patient turnover. Climate & Environment, for many, the pleasant Malnad weather is a deciding factor. Studying in Hassan is physically less draining than the extreme heat of Gulbarga or Raichur. The Cutoff Gap,typically, the cutoff for BMCRI closes around AIR 1,000–3,000, whereas HIMS remains accessible up to AIR 15,000–20,000.

Faculty

3

Faculty at HIMS use Traditional methods like PowerPoint presentations in lecture halls. In each department there are 4-5 faculties to teach and each one handles 150 student in 1 hour duration of lecture. I can't comment on faculties I liked or disliked ,each one as there unique way of teaching. But in our favourite faculties lecture we people used to attentively listen to lecture,in some lectures we used nap ???? off . Internal Assessments : Usually, three internal exams are conducted every 3–4 months.we must secure a minimum of 50% in combined theory and practicals in your internals to be eligible to sit for the final university .I feel internals at HIMS are quite tough, often harder than the actual university exams.
