Remarks
Positive Remarks- One of the most positive thing about the college is the IIT brand which comes with it. They brand has a big reputation both in industries as well as in families. Also the campus is situated in the green plains of punjab so there is always fresh air. Negative Remarks - The college is now only 11 years old so it still is in developing phase only. It therefore have a very limited alumni network and less strength.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is good and mostly industry oriented. Apart from teaching you all the basic engineering stuff, they also tell you about other stuff. Exam structure is semester wise. Each semester for each course we have a mid sem and an end sem. Apso there are surprise and announced quizzes. Labs evaluations are also there.
Placement Experience
Placements are one of the best in India. Average is over a million rupee and it is around a million and half for circuital branches (electrical and computer). Yes the college also provide both research and corporate intership opportunities within the college as well as outside. It has collaborations with universities around the globe and the stipend varies from ?20,000 to ?200,000 pm.
College Events
All the major festivals are celebrated in the College such as holi, diwali, eid, Janmashtami, independence day, republic day etc. We also have 4 college fests namely : Zeitgeist - Cultural fest Advitiya - Tech fest Aarohan - Sports fest Lit-fi - Literature fest Apart from them there are regural celebrations of different events in the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite affordable. For, B.tech, it will cost you around ?200,000 pa if your parents income is more than ?500,000. ?70,000 pa if your parents income is less than ?500,000 ?10,000 pa if your parents income is less than ?100,000 Apart from it there are various scholarships also available.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is loan facility provides by SBI and various other banks. The interest rates are minimal as there is subsidies provided by the government for education loan. Various merit and merit cum means scholarship are also provided by the institute and other organisations for the students.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, hostel facilities are quite decent. They have mess here also. Fees is around 16,000 per semester for hostel and mess. You get single/double occupancy room depending upon your year. There are modern washrooms and unlimited wifi which gives around 20MBps downloading speed and there is LAN network also.
Admission
First you need to paas the JEE MAIN EXAMINATION. Then you will need to be in top 10 thousand in JEE ADVANCED to secure admission in IIT ROPAR. You can also take admission here for Post graduation or PhD through GATE examination.
Faculty
Best quality possible. All the faculty are PhDs and many are from foreign universities also. They have many years of experience also.
