Remarks
So far so good, only one suggestion to college management that to bring back the batch size constraint of older times when IMT was having a decent 150-180 students batch size and it was rated as one of the best in the top 10 list across Indian Business Sc
Entrance Preview
I undertook CAT and scored 94.71 percentile. Post GDs and interview processes, I received final convert calls from flagship programs of the following colleges: IMT Ghaziabad IMI Delhi, Great Lakes Institute of Management and TAPMI, Manipal. Among the above options, I had chosen IMT Ghaziabad for its repute in the corporate circles, college excellence in the marketing domain and ultimately the 'BRAND' value it has.
Course Curriculum Overview
Courses at IMT are exhaustically designed keeping in mind the academic value they impart as well as their corporate relevance. These courses are at par with any set of courses being offered at older IIMs and I can say this with confidence because my group of friends are from these institutions and they share the same notion. As far as faculty is concerned, IMT has a really good mix of faculties who have vast industry experience. The faculty quality quotient is not very high but in every discipline of curriculum (Finance/Marketing/HR/Operations/Analytics etc.), we do have a few really good faculties which compensate for the quality quotient being low.
Internships Opportunities
IMT provide internships in two formats: SIP (Summer Internship programme) - 2 months LSIP (Long Summer Internship programme) - 5 monthsIMT has a process of internship called Summer's Week although this process goes along the whole year (not like older IIMs where Summer's week last only for a week and all students get placed within the week itself). The prime reason for this is the batch size.In my batch, every student got placed for Summer although this process went till March 2015.The general stipend is 20000/- INR (per month)In my batch, 170 companies visited the Campus for Summers process and provided diversified roles to students as interns. The overall experience is really holistic and exciting.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee for IMT's flagship course for two years is Rs, 15 lacs INR which is a bit expensive but when compared to other elite colleges of its league, the fees structure level out.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a scholarship program which college offers and it is called Mahendra Nath Student Scholarship which grants a total amount of Rs 1 Lac INR to the meritorious students.Decent loan facilities are available at IMT where it has tie up with CANARA bank, SBI and Oriental bank of commerce, the details of which are available during admissions time.
Campus Life
Before commenting on campus life, I would like to tell a few points about gender ratio and diversity. Gender diversity can be best seen here (almost 40% girls) since this college is rightly located in NCR region. Also, batches here are having really diverse profiles with a decent mix of fresh graduates, experience graduates (0-2 years exp) and very high experience graduates (3+ years old work exp). Also, profiles are from varying disciplines which includes arts, sciences, engineering, economics, medical, pharmacy etc.Coming back to the point of Campus Life, IMT has a very vibrant campus life with some or the other activities going out throughout the year. College has lush green ground for various support activities, well equipped labs for Data Analytics and IT courses.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are decent ones with basic amenities available to every student. Mess food is really good as against the general notion of mess foods.
Alumni/Alumna
IMT has a very strong alumni network which is very well connected through a students' body called Alumni Relationship Committee (ALCOM). To name a few, Prasoon Joshi, Sunil Kataria, Rajeev Karwal are one of most prestigious alumns which belong here. Alumni networks are really helpful in the terms of their corporate relations with which they provide college students with many opportunities in terms of short term projects and industry associations.
