Positive: provides an atmosphere for free thinking to pursue one's dream and subject. One can study in one stream and study other non-related subjects to stream without any hassle. The academic pressure is minimal. Negatives: needs more outreach for a university of this standard.

Course structure has been updated last year and is updated with current standards and requirement. Exam structure is good without too much pressure. 2 semesters per year. (2 class tests + 1 main exam per semester)

Placements are very good. Completely handled by students. Top companies are brought into the college who provide both internship and full time employment opportunities. Internal screening exams and interviews are conducted by the companies. Packages start from 40 LPA with average of 12LPA. Top companies: Amazon, Microsoft, DE SHAW, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, daikin, Texas Instruments, Honeywell, pwc, über Etc

PARODORS(HE)- inter gender sports meet. Sanskriti- cultural fest spans over one week and brings life to different cultures. Srijan- tech test where students showcase their innovations and skills. Jontrotontro- robotics competition

Very cheap. Subsidized. Five thousand over the span of four years. Paid in two installments. One in first year. And another in third year. It includes everything. Fees structure for IT dept is higher at 10 thousand.

No such scholarship given from college. Scholarships from external sources can be availed like SN Bose. Third year students apply for MITACS or DAAD which are foreign Research scholarships. Financially weaker students are given fee waiver and hostel accommodation.

Well equipped labs with plenty of modern equipment’s assisted by professors and well qualified lab assistants. Sports include cricket football. There are regular sports meets and interdepartmental matches to promote sports.

The alumni network of Jadavpur university is not as strong as one would expect from a elite university. It’s okay. Although initiatives are being taken to strengthen the alumni network. Seniors are very helpful and supportive. Be in acquiring referrals in too colleges or companies.

Got into JU electrical department. Then there was an internal spot round to fill up all the seats in all departments. I moved up to ETCE dept.

Houses a number of well qualified faculties. Who are very experienced in their own fields with great research profile and high H index. Although some professors might be a bummers rest of them are very good and helpful in course and research related work.
