GLIMPSES OF VNIT

Well one of the positives of the college is that we focus a lot in academics. The teaching here is fabulous with adequate lab equipments helping us to explore various fields. A strong network of faculties within the industry and other institutes at national and international level helps you to get a good recommendation which matters alot in future.

The course curriculum is updated keeping in mind the international standards. The curriculum is designed in such a way that the student gets an opportunity to explore things practically and the exam pattern takes care of the fact that the student has learned theoritical concepts thoroughly. Exam pattern is like 2 sessional exams and an end semester exam.

Ample opportunities for jobs and placements. In campus internships and placements are provided by the institute. I haven't applied for intern since I do not want a career in engineering in future but as far as I know the stipends are pretty well and of course you get the brand value of NIT.

Well there are lots of events which we celebrate in the college. Freshers, Ganesh Pooja, Independence Day, Axis- Technical Fest, Department Gathering, Institute Gathering Republic Day, Aarohi- Cultural Fest, Consortium and various events organised by various clubs.

Feasible. Since it is a government college there is fee remission for SC/ST candidates. Also 2/3rd fee remission is provided to economically backward students having family income less than 5 lacs. Fee structure is standard as per the regualtions of central government for all the NITs. Average expenditure per sem including hostel and other expenses is around 1.25 lacs.

2/3 rd fee remission offered by central government to economically backward students having income less than 5 lacs. Loan facility is available for students. College has two bank branches within the campus which have nominal charges and provide education loan.

Various extra curricular activities are organised througout the semester by thr various clubs in the college. We have a all round sports ground for cricket,football and atheletics. Basketball court and lawn tennis courts are there alomg with indoor sports complex for table tennis, badminton and yoga.

We have a strong alumni network and the support of seniors is the factor which makes life easier in college. We have strict rules and regualtions against Ragging. So we have a healthy senior junior interaction. This year one of the batch of 1980s have funded the college and helped them to start electric vehicle service in the college.

I had appeared for JEE MAINS 2017 and secured a rank in 7k range. Then I had to fill the choices of the college and course which I wanted to pursue. The counselling process takes care of the choices and accordingly I was alloted a seat in ECE department in 7th round of counselling conducted by JoSAA.

Faculty of the college is highly professional. They have a lot of contacts in the industry and other institutions which matters alot when you want recommendations. They have lots of experience and are well updated with the events going in day to day life.
