Remarks

Overall, the college is decent when it comes to academics, sports and extra curricular activities. The canteen is also quite spacious and provides lip smacking food as well. The crowd of the college is quite average. When it comes to infrastructure, the college is progressively developing by building new blocks. Connectivity isn't an issue as the metro station is just 0.2 kms away from the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college, yet again, follows the curriculum of University of Delhi in all its courses. Optional subjects are offered to students based on their interests. A three year course is divided into 6 semesters, i.e. 2 semesters each year. Exams take place in the month of December and May for 1-3-5 semester and 2-4-6 semesters respectively. Internal examination also takes place, usually around mid semester break which takes place in the month of march and October. Practical examination takes place just before the start of theoretical examinations.

College Events

4.5

The annual academic year starts from Freshers Orientation and Talent show which takes place in the month of September. Various workshops and events are organised by almost all the societies of the college. Each society of the college organises it's annual fest in the months of January- April. Students from all colleges of the University can attend the fests in our college. The same is applicable to all the other colleges. Societies also goes to attend the fests of universities/ institutes of other cities as well like IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is actually very feasible. The annual fees of B.Com (Hons) is around 14 thousand. The highest fees of around 40 thousand is of the course Bsc. computer science (hons). Concession in fees for students of reserved categories is also there.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships to students that have scored exceptionally well in subjects. It also offers scholarship awards to students who've done exceedingly well in any sport or extra curricular activities.

Campus Life

3.5

The college has active societies of almost all Extra curricular activities. The societies do take part in various competitions that takes place in Delhi or in any other city. The college has a big , well maintained field for sports like cricket and football. The cricket team of college is quite popular in the university. It has a basketball and volleyball court as well. The labs, especially computer labs of the college are air conditioned and very well maintained

Hostel Facilities

1.5

There are no hostel facilities as of now in PGDAV College. Students not belonging to Delhi usually lives in nearby colonies. The college has great connectivity. Delhi Metro Station Vinobapuri is at a distance of 200m from the college.

Alumni/Alumna

The college do keeps a record of all the alumni of the college. Yes, the alumni of the college are very helpful. The college sometimes honour them by calling them to judge events as well. The senior students are extremely helpful as well.

Admission

The university of delhi releases a cut off list based on the percentage one scored in 12th standard. The cut off is different for general/ SC/ST/OBC/ kashmiri migrants/PWD. Some colleges even offer a rebate in cut off on basis of gender, religion, etc. Students are also admitted through sports or Extra curricular activities quota. The test for sports/ECA quota takes places during the admission process only, i.e. between June and August. Students for this quota are alloted colleges based on their results in the test. PGDAV College follows the same criteria for admitting students.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of PGDAV College, is Extremely helpful. Teachers are very supportive and understands the problem of students. Attendance wasn't really an issue in the college. The faculty is adequately qualified and explains concepts very well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
