Review for Atharva College of Engineering

Positive Remarks: 1.Good infrastruture. 2.Attendance was not mandatory. 3.Placements were good. 4. Industrial visit once a year. Negative Remarks: 1. Average Faculty. 2.Transportation issues. 3.No mobile phones allowed in college.

There were around 5 to 6 subjects per semester. Each subject has about 9 hours of lectures per week along with practicals. Every subject had about 3-4 assignments per subject every semister and a mini project per semister. Each semester last for about 6 months.There were total 8 semester. We had a final project at the time of 7th and 8th semester.

The college didnt provide any internship of any kind. They have a good placement record. But the placement percentage is about 50%. The companies that visit here are mostly Infosys, Accenture, L and T infotech.

There were lots of event in college. Like in a month a new event would be there. There were two main events Rhythm-Cultural event. And a Technical event. At the time of event no lectures were taken. Also the event were once in a year.

The fees structure is very expensive. The amount of fees we pay is not worth it based on lectures and everything. There is a category based fees system. I was in open category so i had to pay 70000 per year. The SC/ST category had to pay about 7000 per year. OBC category had to pay 37000 per year.

I was not eligible for any scholarship facility. But they had scholarship facility for SC/ST OBC category. Where the fees was so much reduced. Also there was a freeship for the students whose familiy income was less than 200000 per year. The process for scholarship and freeship was very tiresome.

The have sports event every year. Almost all sports were played like Cricket , football, etc, they also had indoor competition for chess, etc. Labs were in good condition with powerfull systems. There was also a mac lab with only mac systems.

The college didnt had hostel facility. But if the hostel facility was provided i would have happily taken it. They had a good infrastructure. They had swimming pool in college. Also there were 3 phases in college. The canteen food was awesome.

There is no alumni network as of now. Even if it is there i dont know. Senior students were very helpfull with extracurricular activities. There was a alumni meet almost a year back which i think so very few people attended.

After 12th gave Entrance Exam (MHT CET ) and Applied for the college. Based on the marks merit list was announced. After that there was document verification and payment of fees. After that i joined the college.

The faculty of college of was very average. Most of the time they dont even answer the simple question. There were some professors who were good in clearing concepts. Also the faculty were mostly rude.
